We already are good?
They have a 5 game road trip right off the get go. I guess the NBA wants the champs to make early appearances on the road to get the excitement up for the other teams. They get the Bulls twice in first month which is good, because they are a team that will be damn good by midseason IMO.

while i agree with the bulls statement...
*mock shaking*
The Spurs have only 13 back to backs this year, that is the lowest that they have ever had. Last year they had 17 back to backs.
This year, their Rodeo Road trip is 8 games over 16 days, not too bad with only 2 back to backs:
Monday, Jan 30 9:00 p.m. @Jazz
Wednesday, Feb 1 10:00 p.m. @Trail Blazers
Thursday, Feb 2 10:30 p.m. @Warriors
Wednesday, Feb 8 7:00 p.m. @Raptors
Friday, Feb 10 7:30 p.m. @Nets
Sunday, Feb 12 1:00 p.m. @Pacers
Monday, Feb 13 7:00 p.m. @Cavaliers
Wednesday, Feb 15 7:00 p.m. @76ers
I'll bet Pop loves the early road trip - start the season with some major team bonding.
I guess thats the advantage of having a well established front 9. Spurs should have a relatively short adjusting period this season (we can only hope)
You're worried about a 5 game roadie with 4 EC teams, none high seeds from last year? You'd better stock up on Tums for this season.
celtics, wizards, bulls, mavericks... all fairly good teams that will definitely put up a good fight, especially on their home court.
I like it - the team will get off on the right foot against some good compe ion but definitely winnable if they play defense and things roll smoothly.
They shoud start 8-0
make that 9-0... we play the hawks
iirc, in the last 2-3 years, we have lost some ugly games to EC teams on the rd. - Not that it mattered in the end - but we've had trouble in those trips.
That road trip doesn't scare me much.
Feb 15th!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be there.![]()

Our starting lineup is still the same, why do we have to get good, when we are already good, we added a supreme center, and that just made our bench even better....what the are you talking about we better get good fast?
Good thing you're a dentist Jim, and not an accountant or something. Learn to count!

I must have missed a couple...my bad...that makes more sense.
Wasn't it this past year that they dropped games to the Raptors and Celtics and everyone was ready to declare their championship hopes DOA? They aren't going to win the championship in November. With that said, I think they'll probably go 4-1 on that early road trip, with the lone loss coming against the Bulls. They'll come out hard and knock the Spurs on their heels like the Sonics did.
spurs better get good ............... ???? ' i coulda sworn they were the world champions...i.e. "the best in the business" "the last team standing" just like detroit got their respect...[supposedly] no matter what the season brings...."THEY ARE THEY CHAMPIONS UNTIL UNSEATED"
"i coulda sworn they were the world champions"
SPAM. Tim esp seems to like around 'til after Christmas.
I wonder what Pop's season goals are to get them movtivated in Nov/Dec?
If I read this schedule correctly, Detroit has 21 back to backs. They seem to get alot of back to backs the last couple seasons.
