This is the 2nd time you made a thread about this same subject. It's annoying tbh.
I read, and I know a lot of other blacks who do to. I don't know how one can create a static on the number of blacks who read, but please feel free to post it.
Sure, we've all read Langston Hughes poetry and "Invisible Man" by Ralph Ellison, we've all read Richard Wright, James Baldwin, James Weldon Johnson, and all the other black authors.
I have a cool book, it's actual letters written by slaves, yep...some could read and write. It's...To Be A Slave...by Julius Lester (his "Long Journey Home" another great read). I actually have a lot of great reads by other black authors than those I mentioned.
So while it's real obvious black authors, poets, have played a role in the literary world why do so few blacks read and yes there are stats that prove that out and I've seen it in my life experiences.

Why do so few blacks enjoy reading?
Every black person I personally know enjoys reading. Both of them. But in general, I'd say it was the lack of black authors and lack of relatable books for them. And now with internet and digital media, it's too late to capture the (no slavest) as readers.

I don't see what lack of black authors has to do with anything. I don't read books because of race.

I can't read Chinese, but would I read a Chinese author if translated into English, I have.
