Media Award.
Joke.
He has the 2nd best career Drtb ever(Gar Heard #1, barely), He has the 6th best single season Drtb ever, He has the 2nd most defensive win shares ever(career, Bill Russell #1), 6th most win shares of all time, 13th all time career total rebound percent.
Such a travesty
Media Award.
Joke.
He has 5 rings. Who gives a what DPOY award goes too.
dirt bag?

Because Ben Wallace was so awful on offensive that it made his good defense look spectacular.
He and Bruce split the "Spurs vote" during their prime.
Exactly. Bowen was such a great defensive player and he never won either. That award is a joke and almost never goes to the best defensive player.
Typical media award that reward shotblockers/players that only play on one end of the game.
Because shotblocking is all the madness.
If we're talking about not having DPOY's too, Brucie tops TD on that list.
In an ironic twist, they'll name the award after him when he retires.
Yeah they look at blocks and steals too much.
I really thought he was going to get it for the 13 season, and then he ended up finishing 6th.
More blocks than fouls in a season, Duncan did it 6 times:
For single seasons; played in the NBA/BAA; in the regular season; from 1946-47 to 2013-14; qualified for Blocks Per Game Leaderboard; requiring Blocks >= 1.0 × Personal Fouls; sorted by most seasons matching criteria.

People vote for idiots that swat the ball out of bounds when they block shots to look cool. They don't vote for people that touch block the ball to yourself or a team mate to gain possession. Guess it doesn't look as cool as the idiots who deliberately give possession back to the other team by blocking the ball into the stands. Crazy. At least we know him and Brucie are two or the best ever
Just like the 6th man award should have Ginobili's name on it...
If the 2000-2010 media was swapped with today's media, Duncan would have at least 1, tbh..
Today's new media is much more knowledgeable and informed, overall..
Defensive metrics are still relatively flawed, but obviously levels better than any defensive information we possessed pre-2010, especially the "eye test"..
Pippen never won one either. That award is a joke.
So that's why the spurs been the favorites the last 4 years?
I don't understand what you're implying, tbh..
good one
