What bull trade will go down (ala Gasol to the lakers) in an attempt to prevent them from reaching the finals again?

Uh, no. Stern hated SA. You could see him basically gritting his teeth every time he handed Holt the LoB.

Silver seems to really like us. I think he sees us as the direction he wants the league to take.

exstatic my nigg. I see the same thing. During the finals I specifically remember him saying how beautiful it was the way we were playing.

that trade doesn't happen if McHale and Ainge didn't blatantly collude together to get KG to the Celtics for nothing.

To be truthful no trade will save the Lakers this time around. Their team has too many holes in it that 1 player can not fix like Gasol was able to to do in '08. They are only a few good big men in this league and those guys are untouchable right now. The Lakers would have to hope that the Pelicans would be stupid to give up Davis for trash in return. I just don't see that happening.

Wow, I got the complete opposite impression of Stern. The one time he really did the Spurs over were the 2000 rule changes that made guys like Mario Elie, Jaren Jackson, and Jerome Kersey useless. But other than that I think Stern was very good to the Spurs in creating a league where a well-managed small market could win multiple les. I can't imagine seeing that in baseball, for instance.

If the Thunder can't extend Jackson before the season, he'll almost certainly be gone by the trade deadline. Whomever he gets moved for may end up being a difference-maker (Pek for instance).

No trade can help the Clippers get past the Spurs, since they'll still have Paul and, SA will still have Green. But I can see them selling the future for Tobias Harris or another SF.

    No one else matters.

Would Pekovic in place of Jackson really help Meth to beat the Spurs? He isn't the defender Perk is (despite how much we all on him) and he'd allow Tim to stay on the floor. He'd also take the ball out of Durant's hands more often and isn't the spot up shooter Jackson can be.

The Thunder have shooters. They need go-to scorers. Pek is a top-10 offensive player in the league, and he and Ibaka would present a formidable assignment for the Spurs' bigs. And Pek is a fine enough post defender. He's not Pek, but he's not horrible, either.

I think the leagues popularity has maxed domestically so it would make sense for him to view the Spurs as a model for how to grow the league (internationally). Monkeyball can only take the league so far.

For whatever reason Paul & Curry struggle when Green's defending them. Green's basically our Robert Horry tbh. Streaky at times, but clutch and an underrated defender.

He is the epitome of 3 & D. It is somewhat of an insult to say that to some. But, he's gotten so good at both. He's a beast. His lack of ball-handling ability, etc, is really irrelevant. Bowen had the D down, but his shooting was really not natural. Forced. Even if sometimes good. Danny can just light it up, and you're not at all surprised when it happens.

i dont think bowen was quite as streaky as green can be. he was pretty consistent, and a huge 3 with a minute to go was just as likely to go in as a pedestrian shot in the first

Bowen became good at knockin' down one shot at a pretty good clip. I don't have fond memories of his mid-range, he didn't shoot from head on like Danny does, and he couldn't pull up on a break and knock it down. He was fairly more one dimensional. Danny may have had some slumps, but all shooters do. If he stood in that short corner, only, waiting for the ball to be kicked to him, his slumps may have been of shorter durations as well.

I'm sure everybody knows the Spurs can't be stopped this season. Teams will be finding their iden ies while the Spurs repeat. All they can do is hope the season after, Duncan retires along with Ginobili.

If they win next season, I can totally see Tim and Manu coming back for one more run in 2015-2016.

Al Jefferson is much better than the haul the Thunder got for Harden or the Hornets got for Paul. Other guys didn't pan out so much and the first rounder was at the end of the first round where they passed on Steph Curry for Rubio and Flynn.

Actually we examined this in depth on realgm a few weeks ago. There was argument if he was the worst or the 3rd worst defensive bigman in the NBA. Either way he ranks basically dead last in every defensive measure except man to man PPP. That one facet he ranked 30th as a big.

    Basically he's hideous defensively.

Lol, as long as the Thunder have 2 selfish-ass players like Westbrook and Durant on the same team, they aren't winning anything. They lack diversity on offense and even if they had players who could play inside, do you think Durant or Westbrook would pass the ball to them consistently? I think not. They don't get it. They don't make an effort to share the ball with their teammates. Very similar to Harden and Howard. Its all about them.
