I'm showing this chick an ebay ad by a website that specializes in autographs and memorabilia.
I walk up to pay the bill, come back. She has moved the lapper from her side of the table to mine.
It's showing the Blue Screen. I can only remember a bit but something about system dump.
I cannot get the damn thing to shut off so i pull the battery.
Get home, turn it on in safe mode.
Googled, did the suggestions for Windows 7 blue screen. Ran Malaware bytes, all clear.
Disk defrag, good.
So wtf, it's working fine ever since.
The only thing it said when i fired it up the 1st time since meltdown was
"Recovered from unexpected shutdown".
Should i check anything else?

I've gotten taht message before visiting such places as best buy believe it or not.
Maybe they're using a sort of system that doesn't agree with windows?
Happened with my old XP computer. I thought it was the end of that computer but I just shut it down and turned it back on and did what you said with the unexpected shut down but otherwise it kept working fine.
That also seems to happen alot using Firefox too.
Once in a while on pictures, when you copy the url and paste it, the paste ends up being a long mess like what you saw. I think it's their way of making their pics unable to be copied.
Mouse would know more.
Ok so glad to hear your pc did this before too, and long/short it was nothing. This was at that fine dining establishment Dennys, so yes perhaps just something on this store particular INET connection that conflicts with Windows 7?
Blue screens will happen from time to time. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless is starts getting frequent. If it's Windows 7 you should see a little error code flash at the bottom of the blue screen that can give you a hint at what is failing.
For example - I had a bad stick of memory, and the message referenced "mem" in the code..I ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool and immediately it discovered errors. Replaced the kit to one recommended from the motherboards manual, problem solved.
I had another blue screen and it had a code starting with "NV" then some numbers, and of course NV being Nvidia, I knew it was my graphics cards. I RMA'd the card, problem solved.

I thought CCleaner was a good tool, and I guess it is but you have to constantly "clean" what you thought you got rid of or corrected.
I barely use it and like DJ said, it's made some of my other programs not to load properly and crash.

they basically sent out an "update" that bricks your box. There are solutions to it, and Microsoft pulled the patches already, but it's possibly you caught it when it was released.
