ECU's done some work this year especially taking down some ACC programs that thought they would be a cake walk. Now I see why NC state dropped them from their schedules after losing to them last year.
Leach's former DC Ruffin doin some work
... McNeill — good luck finding a more modest, gracious chap — detests such look-ahead chatter. He truly lives in the moment and has preached the same daily to his players and staff since taking over the program following the 2009 season.
"I think from day one, five years ago, we have not wavered on what we believe or our philosophy," McNeill said during his postgame presser Saturday. "Even in our first two years when it was tough. We could have become impatient and tried to microwave it, which I promised myself and Erlene (his wife) that I wouldn't do … and (that we) would build it block-by-block."
McNeill's players and coaches must be listening. With senior Shane Carden quarterbacking coordinator Lincoln Riley's innovative offense, and with a sneaky-fast defense playing better than last season, the Pirates have earned their No. 23 national ranking.
A 28-21 victory at Virginia Tech, ignited by Cam Worthy's six receptions for 224 yards, merited attention. The epic scope of Saturday's 70-41 thrashing of North Carolina demanded attention.
The numbers — 789 yards, 39 first downs, 12-of-17 third-down conversions — were silly. The embarrassment to the Tar Heels was immeasurable.Dating to last year's conquests of North Carolina and N.C. State, ECU has won four consecutive games versus the ACC, one of the five so-called power conferences......

Nobody schedules ECU and expects a cake walk. They're an elite G5 team that takes down ACC teams often.
Considered out of conference yes they are considered "easy". Just like OK St. scheduling UTSA.
Please stop trying...
They're 4-1 against the ACC the past two years. Don't care if theyre G5 or not, they haven't been easy.
Never said they were easy, they are considered easy by sos terms. Similar to ND state.
Or Georgia Southern.
You are seriously putting Georgia Southern in the same bracket as ECU and ND State? lol..stop, please just stop you ing .
ECU is ranked, brah.
Always liked Ruffin. In his years as DC we did pretty well. I wanted him to succeed Leach tbh.
Look at ECU's schedule for the rest of the year. SOS is based off of that. Who cares if they are ranked if they can't hold up a schedule worth a damn. This is the basis where SOS factors in to others schedules as well. If they win out great it looks better for South Carolina's SOS based on ECU's win/loss and ranking. Anything else you'd like to discuss?
The are you talking about. ECU is ranked. ECU is 4-1 against the ACC the past two years.
Noone in their right mind sees them as a cakewalk in any way shape or form.
My god you are ing dumb. Do you even read these replies?
WTF are you even saying? Was your initial post saying ECU is considered 'easy' bc of their remaining schedule? That makes even less sense.
Their SOS is easy yes. WTF do you not get from that.
I'll reiterate again. Their SOS looks damn easy but they are not easy. Rankings help but SOS means more now with the playoffs in effect. Teams that schedule them are looking at the wrong thing and will get caught off guard similar to NC state last year. Also, their ACC games are rival games which are yearly (both NC and Va Tech). NC is and Va tech hasnt been the same in 2+ years now but still those wins make them better looking than nothing.

So their remaining schedule made them a 'cakewalk' to AAC teams ?
Looked like a cake walk for South Carolina, also, read my last post edited. I think you are arguing with me over nothing.
That's ridiculous. They've never been considered easy. They've always had quality teams.
ECU has always had a quality team or the conference?
You do know Georgia Southern won the DII le last year and has consistently been a top DII team. That's why they are DI now and that's why they are tearing it up in DI despite having a DII roster with not all the scholarships filled.
They're easily gonna win the Sun Belt this year.
I'm confused. I don't see a Georgia Southern le at all in Div II - http://www.ncaa.com/history/football/d2 I do see them winning les years ago in FCS but nothing in the past 5 years. That division is dominated by ND State.
FCS is D1. They're just the equivalent of D1-aa while FBS is the equivalent of D-1a.
