The Allen Brothers.....

....a white hillbilly duo who recorded back in the late 20's-30's, had something rather unique happen to them.

They sounded like a couple black blues cats. So when Columbia Records was putting their Hillbilly or series 1500 together and their race records or series 1400 together, guess what? Yep, they stuck The Allen Brothers in with the race records. The real funny part however is they also had them (drawing) on a record label as a couple black singers...haha!!!!!!!

Obviously The Allen Brothers weren't too keen about this so they sued Columbia Records but it was too late, there were too many records already out the door with them as a couple black bluesmen. Well it ended up with Columbia also releasing all their stuff in series 1500 also. The lawsuit was dropped.

They sound like a couple hillbillies to me.




In my opinion (shared by most like myself) these two guys were the ultimate white musical duo who pretty much dwell in total obscurity today. Talk about talent.
