Western Conference playoff teams seem vulnerable this year.

    1) Spurs - another year older
    2) Thunder - BOTH stars hurt
    3) Rockets - ah, never mind - they're pretenders
    4) GS - great backcourt, suspect frontcourt
    5) Phoenix - still a year away from making any noise

This should be the year the Clipps go to the Finals. Best PG, top 3 PF, 6 MOY, deep bench, 3pt snipers (including their backup center has 3pt range), they're athletic, they have swattery, they have rebounding. If they don't do it this year, they never will. No more excuses Clipper Nation

He's right. Clippers have no excuses this year, even if everyone was young / healthy / or whatever.

But damn they look like the exact same team without improvements, so I expect the same result.

No team with Choke Paul on it is a championship team, so no, it's not the year that this team goes to the Finals. , the WCF would be an accomplishment with the $107 million second round choker.

Mavs will gear up and their game will keep improving as the season progresses. It's just that we have too many new faces on our squad it definitely takes some time for them s to mesh up imho.

saying one year older as if that doesn't work for all teams
With the Spurs this is a particularly important point because the big three are all in their 30s with two at retirement age. When you're 35+ every year matters way more than when you're in your 20s. For someone like Griffin for example another year older is another year of experience to gain whereas Duncan another year older is another year with decreased mobility and longer recovery times.

well some teams benefit from a year of experience, other teams are on a timer

Either way Clippers aren't winning and likely never will. They're a complete house of cards.

sure, but it works for cp3, jamal, turkoglu, barnes and so on... otoh the year older can actually be in our favour since the year-to-year improvement of our young guns is far greater than the decrease of our oldies..

Considering no young team has won anything in quite awhile...don't put much stock in it. Miami was old in years, Spurs are old in years, Lakers with Kobe and Gasol was old in years.

that ouf course is true, but it's a stupid point to make as long as there are no injuries on our side..

1st Half in the NBA is meaningless. Thunder missing both their stars won't mean anything in the big picture

You're discounting that becoming a nagging injury for Durant like it was with Walton and Yao. He could end up like Rose tbh.
