" THEY have been together for the past eighteen years and are still going strong with their gospel sing-alongs.Avante, a gospel group of four members – Lucky Cele, Sphiwe Khanyile, James Langa and Linda Gcwensa – has done it again with the new album led * Impilo (life), an album portraying growth and maturity from these South African gospel giants.Every track has beautiful meaning; however, for me, Isela (a thief), Ungangiyeka kanjani (Why would you abandon me?) and Ningakhali (Don’t cry) are winning tracks on this album.Avante’s eleventh album, *Impilo is motivational, entertaining and it reassures the listener of the power of God to those who believe................

Doing God's work. Beautiful.
I'm guessing Avante is the second one.
While blacks have always sang gospel songs it was Georgia Tom Dorsey a blues piano player who started off backing guitar wizard (called himself that) Tampa Red, who did the most to make the music popular. Like so many old blues cats he gave up that....Devils Music...for God's Music. All these groups like...Avante...have to pay homage to Georgia Tom, he was the roots.
Prior to his serious gospel days...(he was doing both for awhile)

Eric Clapton has called this guy the greatest slide guitarist ever. One of his songs is aboard Voyager just in case the Aliens find us and have record players/CD players..haha!!!!!!!
This tune has been covered by a ton, but nobody does it like Blind Willie.
A ed up mother in law threw lye at his dad, missed and hit Willie in the eyes, he was just a kid. Yep, another Texan.
That's his wife helping out.
Story goes their house burned down, so Willie goes to bed (guess it didn't burn) in the burned out husk and caught pnuemonia, yep....died.

Gotta love it.
It's 1942 and Alan Lomax who worked for The Library of Congress is on a field trip in the south looking to record rural America. So he finds himself in Clarksdale Mississippi outside a church. So he unloads his recording gear and heads on in, no way did he expect to find this....
I've heard a million songs in my life but none stopped me in my tracks like that one. Absolutely stunning.

Blake, you are only asking for the negativity when you post stuff like this. SMDH
Actually everyone just learned about Georgia Tom Dorsey.
