The Beatles sucked ass
I know a lot of people here are old school, so what are yall's favorite?
Mine is "Hey Jude"
The Beatles sucked ass
1. hey jude
2. a hard days night
3. sgt. peppers lonely hearts club
4. here comes the sun
5. yellow submarine
6. strawberry fields forever
Don't Let Me Down is my favorite Beatles tune.
But their best tune by far is Tomorrow Never Knows. In fact I think you could make a case for 3 songs from that era, Tomorrow Never Knows, I'm Only Sleeping, and Rain.
Those songs were absolutely groundbreaking, in terms of music and the way they were produced in the studio. Amazing. Simply amazing.
I do love Hey Jude. But "When I'm 64" is sort of our song and we had it played at our wedding just before the bride's march.(Actually, we didn't play the song, but we had a couple musicians (friends of ours) play all the music on acoustic guitars... very simple but pretty).
All You Need Is Love
Across The Universe
Hey Jude
Blackbird
Dear Prudence
Here Comes The Sun
Fixing A Hole
It's hard to pick favorites... I love them all!
I never could stand the beatles, especially their most played songs like Penny Lane and I Wanna Hold Your Hand. I hate that crap. But they did have two songs I absolutely love and they seem to be among the least popular...
1. Fool On the Hill
2. Norwegian Wood
Too many to have a favorite and No Beatles song should be mixed with rap.
It does have some vocals but not alot. But Joe you're underestimating Dangermouse. That was actually brilliantly done. It was incredible.
I loved it.
Across the Universe
Hey Jude
Something
In all honesty, I have not heard it so you may be right.
Let It be
and from John Lennon "Imagine"
I am right...don't judge a book by it's cover man. It's incredible.
Well, if it's Beatles it can't be bad.
Let It Be
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Something
Penny Lane
LSD
Twist and shout.
I think they sang it.
They did but it was originally recorded by the Topnotes and the Isley Brothers. The Beatles version was a cover.
Paperback Writer
A Day in the Life
She's Leaving Home
Yesterday
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
With a Little Help from my Friends (i dont know what its called lol)
from John Lennon
Woman
Beautiful Boy
Lyrics to my favorite Beatles song. How can no one else love this?
Day after day, alone on a hill,
The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still
But nobody wants to know him,
They can see he’s just a fool
And he never gives an answer.
But the fool on the hill sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head see the world spinning round.
Well on the way, head in a cloud,
The man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud.
But nobody ever hears him
Or the sound he appears to make
And he never seems to notice.
But the fool on the hill sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head see the world spinning round.
And nobody seems to like him,
They can tell what he wants to do
And he never shows his feelings.
But the fool on the hill sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head see the world spinning round.
He never listens to them,
He knows that they’re the fools
They don’t like him. The fool on the hill sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head see the world spinning round.
"Norweigan Wood", "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away", "We Can Work It Out", and "Something" (one of my favorite love songs ever) are high on the list of faves, but it's a long list.
Excellent choices!
Also, many other's here have referenced Across the Universe, which is superb.
I'd like to add Hide Your Love Away to the list.
BUT, back in my pot-smoking teen-age hay day, nothing was better than A Day in the Life ...
Except maybe the entire Rubber Soul LP.
And then there is Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da.
Yesterday
Hey Jude
Sgt. Pepper
Too many to name. Absolutly love the beatles, have sean McCarteny live when he came to Boston. He did all of them old Bealtes tunes, was amazing.
