"I'll take it!"
Didn't see a thread on this yet. Gay has actually been pretty good since landing in Sacto, and he's still 28. This looks like a really good deal for the Kings.
3/40 also seems great when he's coming off 5/82.
13.3 per year as opposed to 16.4
with the expected cap jump its ever better
22.5 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 3.5 apg on 45% shooting
If he keeps it up that's definitely a steal tbh.
he's starting to go downhill fast after clinching what would turn out to be his last big contract imho, just like Richard Jefferson (they have something in common, tbh).
It's not bad at all on paper, gotta be careful that he doesn't turn into too much of a chucker... But even if they wanted to move him they could easily at that salary imo, the Clips would die for a true SF...
Little mofo is ting on everyone :

Even this chucker is smart enough to take a paycut

Really nice looking deal considering what Parsons/Hayward got.
Things are finally looking up for Sac. Cousins/Gay/Collison locked up for 3 years with money to spend next year. Just need a defensive 4 and fill out the bench.
You have a defensive 4 in JT, what you need is 3pt shooting in general and a strech 4 in particular so that Cousins gets all the space he needs to work in the post... This team is one or two 3pts threats away from being almost impossible to stop...
JTis their weak spot, easily tbh..
Every time I hear Rudy Gay's name, I think of this guy:
"no not this guy!"
" ing Rudy Gay man"
JT is not the defensive 4 we need. JT is a great first big off the bench, but he is not the guy you trot out as your starting 4 if you want to win. JT is the one who left the guy under the rim wide open against the Grizzlies with .03 left.
And agreed on the 3 pt shooting, also much needed.
In ideal fit next to Cousins would be Ibaka. A 4 who can protect the rim and hit jumpers
