The Spurs aren't re-signing him. I think that he is signing with NJ.
spurs got linton last year but he was injured, was my understanding. i don't know if he might be bowen's replacement, but could he be? could he be good enough that the spurs are just waiting now instead of feverishly trying to make a deal with some team for rasho or nazr?

HE
CAN'T
SHOOT.
Like many who have passed through the Spurs roster, he was not injured most of the time. He was a development project that didn't pan out.
Actually he was really injured until fairly late in the season. He only got out of the walking boot around March.Like many who have passed through the Spurs roster, he was not injured most of the time. He was a development project that didn't pan out.
I'd prefer a vet like GRob, NVE or Finley for the final roster spot.
What sucks is if Miami gets Finley, then I think they get Van Exel too. If Finley doesn't go to Miami, then they'll probably keep Damon Jones.
Well, hopefully they can retain GRob. Another idea is that with Sprewell apparently going to Denver that DerMarr Johnson might be available for what the Spurs have to offer.
It's not like the Spurs are going to have a bad offseason if they retain DBrown and then end up with a younger, less established player as their 12th man, like a Matt Barnes. But the Spurs do have a great opportunity to pick up someone solid for the end of the bench.
It would be fine if they just kept Devin and GRob.
My dream is that they don't get Finley, use the rest of the MLE on Watson, retain Devin, and sign Barnes on the cheap.
If that is going to happen then the same would be with the spurs. One week ago, Van Exel didn't mention Miami as a team he likes. He said he wants to play in Texas as well.
thanks for the update, hadn't heard.
S-Jax was the answer, but the Spurs ware not willing to pay enough.
not buying it. he did some great things but also nearly as many dumb ones and that edgy, street balla at ude was annoying.
Retaining GRob would seem like standing pat, but he'd be like a new addition considering that he wasn't a part of the rotation last season.
Watson would be an awesome pickup.
He didn't made many problems as a Spur, except when he didn't want to talk, after felt insulted by the offer.
Barry received $20M 4 years offer. S-Jax was offered $10M 3 years, like Oberto. They should offer him more.
lj3?
I passed a long time ago.
I'm sure he liked the fact that he got drafted by the Spurs and barely played, but he did get a ring...
He can brag that in Malone's face.
Wasn't drafted by the Spurs.
I thought I saw someone post that in here..
Anyways who cares he was never the answer and he's gone.![]()
You could make the same argument about Ginobili, but b/c he is not black hes not labled a streetballa, but instead he labled crafty and creative.
thats one of the most ignorant things i have read on this board. There is an obvious difference in the two guys personalities. I was a big steven jackson fan, but he did have a hard edge to him. Ginobili could run for fricken mayor hes so clean.
Can't anyone get this straight? Jax turned down an offer from the Spurs and wound up playing for less money in Atlanta. His decision, his play.
Then he got a nice contract offer with Indiana who apparently needed him worse than we did. We weren't interested at that price, considering he'd be playing the bench again behind two established regulars. It was a good move for Jax to go there.
In all probability he will never play for the Spurs again. Nobody's fault. Just the way the combination of contracts, players and talents emerged.
yes
the third reign is now and also upon us
Yeah, maybe if the Spurs had him they could have won a championship last year.
Not for the Spurs.![]()
