After encountering a blog depicting the all-time record of the former Heat/now Cav small forward (found here), I wanted to see how Tim Duncan's record compared. I utilized the same database Basketball-Reference to cull his W-L tally against every team and here's what came up.
The following table provides a ranking sorted by win % as of right now. The records include only games Duncan has played in, including the postseason. (I chose to separate Vancouver & Memphis due to the extreme W-L record as well as precedence of Okc and NO ceding their past to the original cities).
Some other notes that I pulled out:
- 1057-444 all time (70.4%)
- 909-358 regular season record (71.7%)
- 148-86 in playoffs (63.2%)
- Out of the 98 games Duncan has missed, the Spurs are 53-45 (54.1%)
- Duncan has been beaten by 25 or more points 15 times
- Duncan has won by 25 or more points 102 times (at least once against every team sans Memphis (24) & Boston (23)
- In games decided by 30 points or more, Duncan is 45-7. Den(5), Sac(4), GS(4), Uta(3), Por(3), Mia(3) account for roughly half
- Largest win 42 pts (109-67 vs Sac, 1-10-1998)
- Largest road win 41 pts (120-79 vs Sea, 3-25-2007)
- Largest playoff win 36 pts (113-77 vs Mia, 6-11-2013)
- Largest playoff road win 31 pts (120-89 vs LAL, 4-26-2013)
I only looked at point spreads of 25+ which I consider true blowouts. Out of the 15 times Duncan lost by that amount, all were road games except one (Por in March 2013).
TD's longest winning streak is 17 straight vs Boston 1998-2007 and 16 straight vs GS 1998-2002.
He currently has won 16 straight vs Washington (last loss 2006).
All thanks to the folks at Basketball-Reference for the numbers.
When it's all said & done, first ballot Hall of Famer will be one of Tim Duncan's less impressive accomplishments. That's how great he is.
Holy !
The Bucks are a surprise. lol
I love Tim Duncan.
Robinson, Cassell, and Allen used to own the Spurs. The Spurs want to force teams to play a midrange game and the Bucks' midrange was ing deadly. Glenn Robinson's game was perfectly tailored to scoring on the Spurs' defense and they had no one who could guard him.
Holy I barely remember RayRay being a Buck, seems so long ago. lol
This was the truth. They always played above their level when the Spurs were in town. Mid-range shots off a screen or two. Deadly accurate.
Nice info! Thanks for that!![]()
There was much swearing while watching a lot of those Milwaukee games. I remember it seemed like they always had our number. In particular I remember this buzzer beating Bogut winner...

Tim's greatness is truly awesome.
I was at that Bogut buzzer beater game. Ugh![]()

Early 00's the Bucks gave us , won 6 straight or something like that. I remember how much it bothered me as a young fan then when I kept up with all that stuff![]()
