We don't replace him with anything of value. Kyle and Belinelli are his replacements in some of these games. Of course we suck.
His absence can be felt on the defensive end significantly. Of course we cant discount the contributions of green, splitter and duncan but Kawhi get us to a different level..

It's common sense, tbh..
Spurs' defense relies on 3.5 players(Kawhi/DG/Splitter and Duncan when he's moving well) to carry it..they can live without one of Splitter/Duncan because the other can help fill in and Boris isn't a bad defensive player to fill some minutes, too..
The drop-off from Kawhi/DG to the rest of the perimeter defenders is massive, though..we have been seeing it every game without Leonard, as Green can only cover 1 player, of course..
You remove Kawhi and you replace him with atrocious defenders, and this is what you get..not to mention his rebounding, too..
It also doesn't help that Splitter is being eased back in so slowly, tbh..
you should make another about this, and after that 2 more
this is why spurs are better then the record
Kawhi does it all. The allnba defense. The allnba rebounding. 2nd most consistent player after duncan. Clutch player. ices the game with his defense.
Interchangeable player. Can defend the 1-3 and stretch 4s. Nothing scares this guy.
Max player no doubt. Dude gives no s when he plays basketball. Hard worker. Listens to the coaching staff.
Now we still need manu parker and the other pieces but we could still win a championship if any of our players are injured by the time the playoffs start with the exception of duncan.
Yes indeed. Wish we had some word on the kid's hand.
Kawhi is like an NFL shutdown corner. He won't have the stats because no one throws at him, but he shuts off whole areas of the playing field.
