It's crazy to think they could have developed Wiggin and signed Love outright this offseason...

I made a thread a few days ago..

Wiggins and Muhammad are really good teammates..

Surprising since Shabazz was an awful teammate in college. And who knows..His ego might resurface again, but Wiggns and shabazz are playing the best ball of their lives..The last 7 or so 8 games have been a blast.

I love seeing Players develop into better players and teamates..

    He changed his game...

Still wouldnt do to the outcome of Cleveland's season, more now that Varejao is injured.

Even on his hot streak, Wiggins remained inefficient and cancerous. Putting up non-impactful stats. Complete black hole on offense. Basically Kobe level disruption. The hype behind this kid is unreal.

0-5 Wolves during the stretch combined and Wiggins leads his team at -78 +/-, a good -30 ahead of second place.

    Just read this: http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/a...-lebron-james/

    This is the timberwolves..

I don't blame players for using tanking teams as a means to improve their games..

Nothing wrong with that. Wiggins have a lot of holes to fill and will probably look average on a good team, but his got a year to figure out his game..

And so far, he is showing flushes..

Still wouldnt do to the outcome of Cleveland's season, more now that Varejao is injured.
You see, there's this thing called defense. It happens when your team is not attacking with the ball. I know that 17 points per game looks impressive, but when you are a 4, and you are not blocking the post-ups, but rather going for the rebound, it is counter-productive to your scoring.

Wiggins may not have developed to the point he is in Minnesota in Cleveland (because he isn't the first option), but he could focus on defense, and get easier points with LeBron being such a good playmaker.

With Varejo injured, this move could completely change the outcome of their year. Substiuting a great prospect in like Wiggins and inserting Thompson in the line-up giving him experience would work wonders. Now, they have to build around Love with LeBron and Kyrie, a weird fit, when they could have had a Pippen/Jordan-esque team in the future.

It is especially embarrassing when you consider they had the first overall pick the year before (Bennett), and traded him along with Wiggins for a one-year rental of Love, when they should have waited until the off-season. Not to mention they kept Waiters, and have him coming off the bench (terrible idea ). It should have known he would be a cancer.

Just a horrible trade and mismanagement by the owner. It will be a joke if they get rid of that coach.

Cavs did it because Lebron was their last ditch effort to salvage dignity. All or nothing, and Lebron wanted Kevin Love, not a rookie.

Trading Irving was the no-brainer, not Love, tbh..

Ball-dominant PGs don't win in the NBA, as everybody here knows..finding a competent, supporting PG is very easy..

Wiggins would have been a nice defensive piece to help mask Love's deficiencies on the defensive end, which Cleveland's front office(LeBron) did nothing to address, for some reason..this isn't the 90s/early 2000s, where a 40-year old Shawn Marion could be effective as a defensive piece..

Yeah but James likes Irving and Irving is Uncle Drew. Can't be trading away Uncle Drew and a chance to get Irving and James on the court at the same time. If James had any basketball IQ beyond x's and o's, he'd have insisted that the Cavs keep Wiggins and his low salary and worked with the team to build chemistry instead of remaking the entire thing like some patched together frankenstein attempt at copying the Miami template.

They should trade Irving to Sactown, Denver or the Lakers for some pieces. Coach K might be the college GOAT coach, but yet not one of his players is in the HOF.

He'd be looking at a 4 peat had OKC made the finals last June.

Great points. I think we all thought (or at least I did) they should have been able to make that trade without Wiggins. The Basketball Gods gave them the top pick (again) and they turned it in to Love plus gave up the previous top pick. Minny had no leverage Love was ALWAYS gonna leave. They should have kept wiggins and offered any 3 of Waiters, Tristan Thompson, Bennett and a a first round pick.

I get why Minny wanted Wiggins. good for them for forcing the Cavs hand but as DMC said the King get what he wants ...

James likely said he didn't see the current roster as having a legit shot at a le in the next 2 years, which is the extent of his contract.

should've kept Wiggins and moved Lebron to 4 imho. Wiggins has a much higher ceiling than Love and is much younger as well. Lebron could've made Wiggins what Tim Duncan was to D-Rob tbh. is either too dumb to recognize it or just too selfish. The Great Satan will turn Kobe 2.0 within a few years imho, except that he only has 2 and will retire with 2.
