Which isnt saying much, but our 05/06 version just addressed all the problems he said

What is your assessment of the current NBA champion Spurs as compared to the great teams of the past? — Alain

I'd judge the Spurs to certainly be among the top-notch teams of all-time. They do lack muscle in the middle, however, plus the elite kind of depth (with the notable exception of Robert Horry) that most of the other elite teams have. Their outside shooting is also erratic. I did, however, make a conscious decision not to include any current up-to-date team.

Of the teams on my list, who might they have beaten? Only the 1949-50 Lakers, and the 1993-93 Rockets. That would make the Spurs Number 12 on my hit parade.

Mr. Rosen is wrong = there is no team that a fully healthy Spur team if they played at the top of the game could not have posed a threat to. The Spurs bench was a lot stronger than given credit for period.

Strong defense is a great equalizer and even the Bulls with Bowen on Jordan, and the quick Parker and Manu driving at will except perhaps on Scotty and Rodman, would have been an interesting series. Last years Spurs as good if not better than the Jazz teams that gave them a lot to handle.
