I know there's an MVPau thread, but it, 46-18 deserves another thread.

The Bulls system makes Pau score 46 points

Amazing how he's flourishing this year now that he's motivated.

I bet if he wins another championship, all the laker s who signed up here after Pau, then threw him under the bus, will start singing his praises again. Pathetic.

They won't. They hated Shaq even after he won another ring. They have room for one star and that's Kobe. Lakers fans historically have taken huge s on ex-Lakers, even retired ones. They are the "what have you done for me lately" crowd. Most of them couldn't even name another player on the team other than Kobe.

They know when a newly acquired player changes their playoff hopes, and they ride him during that time, but if he's ever traded or leaves or retires, they credit Kobe with the success and under the bus goes the real reason.

No Lakers fan registered here under the game "Pau" anything.

So who was the cancer when he was going 0-16 in the playoffs without Kobe?
Fact: Kobe missed the playoffs one year and only won ONE game the next, and threatened to quit.

Fact: Gasol came along and Lakers make 3 consecutive Finals appearances including 2 championships

Fact: Gasol was better in the Finals than Kevin Garnett

    Fact: Kobe shot 6 - 24

Fact: When Gasol stopped caring, Lakers were swept the year following their 2010 championship

Fact: Kobe didn't change anything about his game, nothing....

So who was the cancer when he was going 0-16 in the playoffs without Kobe?
He had to play some damn good teams in those matchups, unfortunately. In his very first playoff run, he had to face the defending champion Spurs, who were like on a 13 game winning streak going into the playoffs. The next year, he played the Seven Second or Less Suns team at their peak. And the next year: The Mavericks, who won 60 games and made it to the NBA Finals. And in the '13 series against the Spurs, he was by far the Lakers' best player while your boy Dwight quit.

Gasol can't be blamed for any of those playoff failures.

Oh, and let's see who was Gasol's sidekick during his Memphis playoff runs:

    04: James Posey

    05: White Chocolate

    06: Eddie Jones

Lamar Odom>>>>any of those players. It's a miracle Gasol even got those Grizzlies teams into the playoffs.

And it only took a move to the best team in the weak ass east and a system designed to hide his flaws. He will finally get his playoff win without Kobe. Props.

How is being on the Bulls hiding his flaws? You probably think because he's playing alongside Noah that he can coast on defense. Thing is, he's the Bulls best rebounder and shot-blocker, so he's doing plenty of work on that end.

The biggest "flaw" that is hidden this year is his lack of motivation, since playing with a chucker and under a coach (D'Antoni) who tried to use him as a stretch 4 pretty much killed his compe ive will.

    Shots fired at Bean:

“I don’t usually like guys having that amount of points,” Gasol said. “It takes away the rhythm of the other players. I’m all about balance and team game.”
