Marco Belinelli saved our ass with a big three pointer in the fourth quarter?
I was watching it earlier, it's my favorite half in Spurs history, tbh..
Everybody on Spurstalk was extremely excited about the result, but there wasn't much analysis following the game IIRC..
The Spurs were getting manhandled and destroyed in the 1st half, a 7th game seemed inevitable, but something happened to the team, all of a sudden, which led to a heroic comeback full of resiliency and beautiful basketball..
What was the difference for the Spurs in the 1st half compared to the 2nd half of that game?
Marco Belinelli saved our ass with a big three pointer in the fourth quarter?
This shtick sucks.
Great ball movement in the second half.
I have no idea why some gots here think this isn't a valid basketball discussion..
The entire game turned in the final minute of the third quarter, that is where we won it. The Green and 1 was huge.
This shtick sucks.
Tim and Manu really took ownership of that game... Boris was also great in that 3rd quarter run, and Kawhi had that key steal in OT...
It was such a weird series, tbh... all the blowout games by both teams... not surprising it was decided in the first and only compe ive game of the series...
Good observation..
- Tim making all the big shots down the stretch
- Manu running the offense + making big plays
- Kawhi with the historic strip of Westbrook
- Diaw with arguably the best game of his career
- Green with key 3s
- Mills with the energy
- Belinelli with a big 3
- Splitter with the screens and finishes
- Bonner starting the half
- Joseph, Baynes and Ayres cheering hard
Complete team effort, tbh..

No Parker in the second half.
That half, IMO, is the best team effort I've seen from the team...
I agree, all the ego was left on the bench and the guys on the floor played for each other when hit the fan.
Cory Joseph's garbage time stuff in game 4 was true leadership that carried through for the rest of the series.
That game is an all time classic to me now, watched it live in the 4th and cursed alot when the Spurs blew the lead and thought they blew the game and maybe the series, then they go to OT and take it over! That was a great game, one of my faves I have seen as a Spurs fan.Yes sir.
That dunk was huge, lost the game but man that was something serious. It had an effect on the rest of the series and I will always believe that.
One of the greatest games I've seen, even with Spurs blinders off.
I always knew the Spurs could beat them, it was more about overcoming their athleticism and ref hookups. 2012 still pisses me off more than 2013 for that reason.
After overcoming the Thunder and refs last year, I knew no one was gonna stop them.
That Kawhi steal is still one of the purestplays of all time.
No Perker and Spurs suddenly hitting on all cylinders. Every non player-fan figures it out pretty easily. Poor Pop had to find excuse to save that got's face and fabric "great leadership" horse .
I'm still shocked that the refs didnt call Kawhi for a foul on that strip, btw..
A battle of home courts tbh the first to lose at home lost the series
The great Tim Duncan, top 5 all time.
On a lesser note, a HOF Gino went retro.
This pathetic deserves to get longcatted.
Everyone in this thread are talking bball..
I have no idea why posters like Havoc continue to ruin good basketball threads..everyone is having fun talking bball and all of a sudden a couple of guys are posting with their personal agendas..
sad.
It's a basketball site, let people talk about basketball
You're stupid.
I'm not here to argue or call other people stupid..That's very childish and immature, IMO..I also don't want to derail thread when over 7 people have responded to this thread positively talking about basketball..I think posters deserve to talk about bball.
On the topic, the spurs last minute execution on that game was pure gold...truly a clutch performance.
