this was a good movie...nothing special. Have no idea why it's being discussed differently than any other war movie or being thought of as controversial in any way. I didn't see that they were trying to glorify him any more than any other biopic does of its subject. Did people expect to portray the protagonist as some fence riding pansy?

I realize that. I haven't seen enough movies to know whether it's worthy or not this year. I'd be surprised if it won though...even not seeing anything else...it just wasn't THAT great imo. Actually, I'd be happy if it won just because it would bug the out of boutons and his ilk. Plus I like Clint Eastwood and don't mind any recognition he can get.
