Who?
This basically means we won't be doing anything on the buyout market, yes?
What did you expect? Honestly? Roll with what you got now, that is what they are going to do 100% and was always the plan. This is the Spurs style and has been for a while and it usually works.
Free agent steal. 6 is locked up now.
Beyond predictable. I guess this means they aren't interested in buyout candidates.
He seems like a great teammate?
Except in 2008.
The buyout market doesn't seem to appealing this season. Maybe the Spurs needed a James Harden dummy just in case we play Houston in the playoffs in Williams.
He must wave a mean towel.
Maybe he can replace Leonard.
If a buyout candidate emerges, they can still jettison Williams or Ayers with only money guaranteed this year. I guess the Nando trade exception disappears though.
Wonder if they plan on bringing KA back this season.
Probably. Dunno what he showed to make them not even look at anyone else. He really doesn't fit on the roster personnel-wise. So I imagine he fit socially.
Maybe it just gives them the rationale not to bring back KA for the rest of the season.
Contending teams are making deals and the Spurs are resigning DL scrubs.![]()
Yup, they will never see a championship. Too bad the FO doesn't know personnel like you do.
Wow. I wasn't expecting the Spurs to sign someone like this for the remainder of the season this early. They haven't even seen the buyout market yet.
It seems like the Spurs may have completely given up on buyout players too. They keep getting turned down by nearly all of the buyout players anyway, so maybe they've just completely given up chasing anyone.
Diaw's the only decent guy we've gotten mid-season from a buyout and he probably wouldn't have come here either if it wasn't for Tony Parker. Seems like anyone the Spurs chase, they turn them down, so they may have decided not to waste their time chasing anyone else.
so many buy-out candidates and they choose to fill the roster...wonder what they saw in him. Team has four shooting guards already.
Can't they still just waive Williams if an opportunity comes along? Signing Williams for the rest of the season is still something they need to do after so many 10 day contracts.
I guess that's true. It could be a non-guaranteed deal, right? Might not be a big deal to waive him should someone come up in the buyout market that they're interested in.
Yes. This signing costs about 300K. They can still waive him or Ayres if an interesting free agent candidate emerges.
The money for the rest of the season has to be 100% guaranteed.
wikipedia was already updated by someone saying he plays for the Spurs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reggie_...,_born_1986%29
