The Spurs have defeated 3 really bad teams and 2 really mediocre teams in the past 5 games, tbh..

    Sacramento: 27th ranked defense
    Phoenix: 21st ranked defense
    Sacramento: 27th ranked defense
    Denver: 26th ranked defense
Chicago: 13th ranked defense missing 2 of their 3 best defensive players(Butler and Gibson)

Sacramento, Denver and Chicago are all statistically poor at defending the PG position, too..

    The next 3 games:

    Toronto: 23rd ranked defense
    Cleveland: 19th ranked defense
    Minnesota: 30th ranked defense

This homestand is nice for the standings, the Spurs need to move up, but that's really all it is, unfortunately..Cleveland is the only litmus test on this homestand, and there are no defensive challenges to gauge anything during this stretch..

You guys are really furious that the Spurs are winning with Tony playing well.

    Damage control.

Disagree. It's not like we were beating bad teams earlier in the year. We lost several games to inferior teams, and when we did win, it seemed to always be down to the wire. We've now won 5 straight games by an average margin of 17 points. I don't care who you're playing - that means something for a team that's been inconsistent all year. Pop came out and said this is the best basketball they've played all year.

I'm not saying we're suddenly le favorites or anything, but writing this stretch off and saying it doesn't mean anything is dumb. We're finally getting healthy and getting rhythm back - this is a positive regardless of who you're playing. We seemingly had a different starting lineup every game for the 1st half of the season, and we're now finally back to our starting 5 from last year. The guys are gaining confidence, which has been another problem for us this season.

I think the offense, our Achilles heel all season, is starting to come around... today the bench played well, Patty is starting to find his shot... all part of a process

5-0 is all the perspective kawhi fanboys usually consider so don't expect them to look any further.

Still nba comp and this stretch is a positive sign from tp. He still can't guard anyone on gsw which is going to be an issue.

This, except we need to improve the D, especially with the store bought Cavs coming up.

Isn't this what people said last year? "Spurs are just blowing out bad teams. They can't beat elite opponents!"

IIRC, that 20 game win streak we had last year was made up of mainly bad teams. We beat Miami and Portland, and maybe a few other decent teams, but it was predominantly inferior teams that we were beating up on.

I know this is just part of the anti-Parker schtick, but this is pretty lazy trolling tbh. Everyone plays bad teams...not everyone blows them out by double digits consistently. It means something when you do.

    Um, no..

I'm literally one of the only posters on this entire forum that didn't cliff-jump off the Spurs in 2013 and 2014 when people like timvp were saying they weren't contenders, and when people were panicking when the Spurs were losing to all the regular season "elite teams" last year..I was one of the few that continued to say the Spurs would easily win the West, actually..

I'm not saying don't be excited about this stretch, I'm just saying that it's literally one of the easiest schedules you could possibly have in the NBA this season..people on this forum don't understand how to react to highs and lows, it's always extremes..

Malik called the spurs a champion way before 2014 happened..

Oh but all these doubetrs and losers have suddenly have room to brag about their takes because Rique had a good game against Kirk and Aaron brooks.

I said the Spurs would easily beat the Heat, while most of these clowns were panicking after Miami won game 2, tbh..

It's not really about the compe ion right now. TP is playing better. He's doing things he couldn't do a couple of weeks ago. Use your eyes and your ing head.

We're all sorry for you that now Parker has the best scoring performance and highest assist game for a Spur this season.

There are only three true contenders so you can't really blame the spurs for beating weak east playoff teams. The spurs have been playing badly for diagnosable reasons. Those reasons, injured Kawhi, tiago, mills and PArker, appear to have been cured. Therefore, reasonable assumption that The Spurs are full strength.

Apo and Harlem, it's cool that you got last year right, but your 2015 takes have been trash (or trolling), so come on.Why should we believe you?

It's not even about wins and losses it's the way they look and they're looking like they did last season. Once the playoffs begin that's all I'm concerned with.

No. It's about win and losses. If they play well, they win.
