MACBA Cancels Exhibition A Day Before Opening
The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) has announced it is cancelling an exhibition just a day before it was due to open due to an internal staff dispute over a work by Austrian artist Ines Doujak.
The controversial Doujak sculpture, Haute Couture 4, features a sex scene between a German shepherd Bolivian feminist leader Domitila Barrios de Chúngara and the Spanish monarch King Juan Carlos I who is sodomized while he vomits cornflower on a bed of SS helmets. The artist, who exhibited the work at the Sao Paolo Biennial in December 2014, states that the work "plays with the [sic] power relationships and subverts them."
MACBA's director, Bartomeu Marí, said that the work is "very sensitive" and that the decision to withdraw the work should not be seen as censorship—however, on hearing that the work would be removed from the group show of 30 international artists, Doujak refused to remove the sculpture from the premises.
In a dramatic move, the Museum then decided to cancel the entire exhibition. The group show, i Bèstia the Sobira (The beast and the sovereign) was due to open tonight and is currently being dismantled according to reports.
In a press statement, Marí said that in his 25 year career he had never seen anything like it.

I just don't get it
I don't get the context of the art. It makes no logical sense and I've never in my life come across a scenario where someone that is receiving anal from a dog (or wolf) is giving anal to another person. I'm not saying it's never happened but it's not likely. A more likely situation would be maybe one of the men giving the dog anal while the other man masturbates or possibly jacks the dog off.
