No idea. Never played a 2k6 game.
Why don't they merge their ing features, that would be awesome. I like some aspects of each game, but I've always been an NBA Live buyer. This year might be the 1st year I buy an ESPN game.

I've played Live every year since 94 and will continue to play Live until NBA Live 2035.
2k5 is for slow players with no micro. Live is better than 2k5 in every aspect of the game.

Live is WAY to choppy! Plus, I dont like the fact that guys like Bowen can do 360's and stuff in Live. 2K5 is much better IMO.

ESPN's bball game is by far way better than Live....much much more better
I was a huge fan of Lakers vs Celtics, bulls etc....then came the Live series which owned b-ball throughout the 90's. However since I played a 2k game it overpowered the Live series IMO....it had better graphics, better stat tracking, better overal game play and more fluid transitions. Once they included the franchise mode and more refined game play elements, I was hooked. I play both games each year and the 2k series is heads above Live...sorry.

If you're complaining that its too easy to go 98-0 in Live, then try playing on something other than the "Rookie" difficulty.
Live in blows, i rented it and took it back 4 days before it was due. tiest excuse for a modern basketball game i have ever seen

actually no they aren't, maybe to you games are all about graphics. and I'm not pissed cause you disagree with me, its just that you don't back up why the graphics suck or why the gameplay sucks.
Danyo get off your high horse, Live just sucks the overall gameplay is horrible
2K by far the better franchise for basketball. Graphics are better, gameplay more realistic, tempo of the games actually feels like a real NBA game. When I'm playing that sucker on my 60 inch tv with the Spurs in franchise mode, DAMN!!
