Why do atheists try so hard to battle with the most powerful force we have ever seen, religion?
Who here has seen anyone on any of these internet sites say....

...and we never will. Those who do believe in some God came from that world most the time. Grandma, grandpa, mom and dad all believed. So some nut hiding behind a computer screen really thinks he's changing anything? Especially since he has been acting like a jerk/punk, showing what having no God does to people.
Most people do believe in some God, it simply makes them feel better about things. Better to think mom is there in Heaven than just worm food. Better to have some hope of something better than no hope at all.
I do pity atheists, they don't get it and it's sad to watch how they act.
Probably the same reason intellectuals battle stupidity and ignorance. They'll never win, but there's something about watching the world around you pretending to have an invisible overlord that doesn't sit right with intellectually honest folks.
The uneducated find comfort in convenient answers, because they don't have to struggle to suspend disbelief. No one chooses to be an atheist. It chooses you. You might or might not admit it, but if you're atheist you know it.
Religion isn't a fringe concept, it's pervasive in society and those of us who know it's bull aren't inclined to play along or turn a blind eye, we aren't required to.

Atheism isn't taught, and based on your response neither is reading comprehension where ever you went to school. I said you cannot choose to be atheist. Whereas religion is a faith based practice that relies heavily on reaffirmation of the silly belief, atheism is a conclusion based on acceptance of reality. It's not taught. What is taught is the notion that it's ok to face reality and that whatever is, is ok because there's no choice involved.
As popular as religious talk seems to be, walking the walk doesn't seem to be that popular anywhere. This place is no exception. That's because it's obviously misguided so why bother? By pretending you believe you get the comfort of group acceptance with none of the annoying requirements of religion.
