i've already said, defensive teams in the nba has become a popularity contest. We'll see harden make an all defensive team before danny green.
Kawhi won't have the same problems as bowen. Bowen was a one way role player who pissed off the leagues prima donna wing players. Stern would never let him get any award.
Kawhi is a 2 way player with highlights equal to any big man. He doesn't just play his into a bad shot like bruce, he assaults and robs them. Everybody loves Kawhi.
Yeah, Kawhi scores enough to be considered an All-NBA defender.

Anyways, he definitely deserves to be 2nd team, but there's no chance in he gets voted. Like people in here have said, it's mainly about popularity and reputation.
I think Kawhi will finally get his due and be 1st team though. Also has an outside shot at DPOTY since it's wide open this year...if Spurs finish out the year strong and Kawhi plays well, he could win it.
No way Kawhi wins dpoy even though he deserves it. That got deandre or Draymond Green will win it due to their popularity/market.
The 1st team will be Chris Paul and probably Tony Allen IMO..
Not sure who else is even in the discussion for the 2nd team..based on the metrics, Green is the 2nd best defender at SG behind Allen IIRC(and Green has been better this season IMO, since he has played a lot more minutes IIRC)..
still 5 games man. The media is still not sure if Green or Bogut is more important to the team..if you ask me, I think Draymond is deserving too alongside kawhi but draymond might lose some votes because of Bogut and that could be it..Bogut is playing like 23mpg..No way he deserves that award.
Jordan will win it though and we could all call it a joke.
