Social security here max out at 117k per year so you don't pay after that amount for those. I Work in IT too and there is a lot of cash out there right now for the right field, it feels like the dot com boom. A friend of mine got a 100k signing bonus up front for a IT job, it's crazy. I personally didn't even go to school. I live pretty frugally and like I have a much less salary.

I guess you're in sales it goes without saying. I've been obsessed with the thought of sales for a while now, there is really big money in it if you're good. But I would do financial sales such as an advisor, cfp, or I-banking (I wish)
