"Sure it'd be great if they played well on Wednesday, since if they lose we're done."?

    Man, words are hard.

Kind of disturbing that grown men repeatedly refer to another man as an "alpha"

He still gotta act like he somebody. Letting reporters rustle your jimmies with standard benign fare ain't a good look.

That's perhaps the least creative, most adolescent response he could have ever conceived of to put them in their place. "See my hat?" Serious? He needs to take a class from Christian Bale.

Who cares, tbh? Spur fan is getting emotional upstairs about this.

I wouldn't expect any player on the Spurs to say any different if they were in his shoes.

LOL I was wondering why this is such an issue on Spurstalk? WGAF who is the alpha of a team? I actually liked Amb's alpha thread despite his intentions, but arguing if Magic or Kareem was the alpha of Showtime or any debate similar (wade/Lebron) is silly. Wade has 3 rings and Lebron 2. I dont put an asterisk on Wades 2nd and 3rd rings even though Lebron was the "alpha".

He acts this way with the media because the team allows him to. There's a Grantland article about how OKC is one of the only teams that's incredibly stingy with allowing interviews and access to players. They berate reporters whenever Russ or KD have a hissy fit in public. Apparently that's part of their strategy to keep/lure free agents - "You don't have to treat the media nicely, and we'll do whatever we can to keep them away from you".

What did Westbrook do? Did he rape somebody? Did he on a teammate? Did he call anybody out?

All he did was scoff at the reporter's stupid question..

This is the same man that has defended his ty coach for years, and never throws anybody under the bus..

I don't understand why fans want players to give them cliche answers and lies in interviews

Bully, bully for them. Media is not there to treat you well. They are there to make a living, just like the next asshole in the line. And just like said asshole they'll do it by hook, or, by crook. "Your" job is to win NBA les, not to be hop into bed with Media, or, patronize them so they cite your charity horse .
