I think the Spurs will beat the Pelicans tonight and secure the 2nd seed, but its not so terrible if they don't. Stay with me here. Assuming they lose and get the sixth seed, it will be a tough road loss and the end of a long win streak - out of the way, before the playoffs begin. Its a great primer, win or lose.

The team will start out on the road, re-calibrated, upset, and focused for winning on the road. Its going to be like a playoff mulligan. If they win, their confidence will be that much stronger. Oh well, GO SPURS GO. Relax and enjoy the game.

    no..no..

Winning 21 out of 25 games and not resting any of the big 3, only to finish with the 6th seed, no HCA in any series and a 1st-round matchup @ LA would be the worst case scenario..

Having to play the Clippers in the opening round without HCA is not a win, no matter which way you slice it

It'd only be win-win if the Grizz lose. The Guests are the weakest team in the WC playoffs atm, and the Spurs would have homecourt to boot. Otherwise falling back to sixth after all that hard work would be a giant blow mentally. Could see the Clippers/Rockets neating them in the first round in that case.

    Massive fail on many levels.

1 - premise disagrees with conclusion....spurs get 2 seed is the result.

2 this is did not need a new thread

3 - they are already playing great, why break what works?

4 - they had that soul searching loss, it was the rodeo road trip and the bad New york loss

    5 - no

6 - why do you beleive in stupid things like the streak? Streak danger is really a regular season thing when guys lose focus. This is a team that knows what is at stake.

    7 - no

8 - you are slow to edit your post

    9 - not a spursfan i think

    10 - spurs are winning tonight, it's a fact.

I would consider falling back down to the 6 seed a major loss after kicking ass for the past 25 games.

No. Avoid 6th. It's likely they get one of Houston/LAC in that case. That's a nightmare especially if Splitter is out for the 1st round(which is the rumor).

I'm a little surprised at the reaction here. Look, 6th seed isn't ideal but the most important thing is being healthy. The Spurs are on the right track and have been playing terrific. I'm ok with starting on the road if that's their fate. I don't think the Spurs were really too concerned with seeding. They just wanted to right the ship. Now that its in front of them and within reach they are going to go for it. Spurs are the best team in the league and will prove it in the playoffs win or lose tonight.

Don't worry OP. This thread will be bumped if the Spurs do indeed lose as a rallying cry and coping mechanisms for disenchanted Spurs fans.

Finish the season on a huge roll. The seeding is what it is. Spurs have to win games on the road so what? They have been there before..

This is the spurs finals Imo.

6 seed = no repeat. To difficult for any team in this conference

2 seed = decent chance, just have to win one road series and possibly none if the Warriors get ko early.

One of the worst threads in recent memory. Spurs have a decent shot at repeating with the 2nd seed. 6th seed would be brutal. They'd be worn out long before they make the conference finals.

Bad take tbh. You get an A for staying positive tho.
