"Experience helped us not to lose our heads when we were down 14 (27-13 in the 1st quarter), but the reality is that we won by pure luck"

"Plays like the Jordan one happen in games like this one, that end up being decided by the smallest details, and today we were lucky. I don't know if it was a mistake, his instincts or what, but it just benefited us. The game could've easily been won by either team"

"Patty (Mills) was spectacular at the most difficult moment, down 14, he scored 10 points in a row and got us back into the game"

    About Diaw:
"Even though he comes off the bench, he's a key guy, and he ends up playing more than the starters sometimes, due to his versatility. He's fundamental for us. He already proved that during the Finals last playoffs and today he helped with plays that are perhaps not typical Boris plays"

    About Griffin:
"He's a tough guy to defend and physically he's a machine. Fortunately, he didn't score many of his shots today."

    About what's coming:
"We want to win every game and always play our best basketball. Sometimes we can, sometimes we can't. We can't go back home relaxed. We'll try to make less mistakes and be aggressive. Now the score starts at 0-0 again. We're going to try to close the series. We don't want to come back to Los Angeles"

Didn't realize Blake missed 15 shots. In the moment, it feels like everything of theirs goes in, and any misses become offensive rebounds. By the end of the game, Spurs out-offensive rebounded them by one! Anyway, thanks for the translation

MANU, speaking of Michael Jordan, just surpassed his idol in the NBA individual play-off wins at # 10 with 120 wins, tied with Byron Scott.

    #4 TIM DUNCAN- 151 wins
    #9 TONY PARKER- 125 wins .

Love Manu, and despite how a lot of people on Spurstalk feel I really hope he comes back next year.

He's my favorite athlete of all time.

Manu is always honest in his comments. And he goes right to the heart of the matter, illustrating his thoughts with comments about specific plays and players. No cliches like 'we play one game at a time' when he thinks the Spurs didn't play their best and were lucky.

Sounded a little butthurt he was pulled.

I don't call Timmy Dunks tremendous block and subsequent steal from Flake Griffin to be "luck".

I also noticed Ginobili attempting to boss some players around during a free throw. The other kind of looked at him blankly like "un huh, okay whatever" like they were pacifying him.

I dunno. While i have liked his honesty too, i never hear him talk about his own turnovers and what (if anything) he is doing to rectify them.

I love Manu but I would have yanked him in clutch time too yesterday. I just don't trust him not to crap all over himself and lose us a game like yesterday's that was almost impossible to win considering the cir stances. After all that third quarter intentional fouling of Jordan and we were up 6 and then Manu craps the lead away in two consecutive possessions I wanted to strangle him. It's like, we gave up all these fouls and used this strategy for so long and he ed it all away trying to make Manu hotdog passes. It was the first night in a playoff game where Pop must have thought "I can't go to war with this guy."

He went to war with him after that though, all the way to Game 7 and the next playoffs.

Last night it made sense though, we had a relatively solid lead with 2:00 to go and Danny really is the better defender on CP3...

Right, ElNono, I was going to reply to Splits the same way. What I mean I guess is that I never remember seeing Manu benched in clutch time before by Pop. And, from what I've been seeing, I don't blame Pop one bit.
