Losing Green would be a disaster.
Good luck bruh
Your definitely gonna need it tryin to convince someone to open the vault for that guy
Man cant dribble more than 3 times without tin all over himself
Shot is broken
Hes shouldnt even be starting at this point
Hes clearly hit his ceiling
Im more than okay with letting Green walk & letting Beli start
Or at least lowballing the outta him
Package him & soft ass Splitter & ship em tf outta here
Sidenote: I dont see how the Spurs can justify offering Manu anything either
Losing Green would be a disaster.
Marco sucks for an entire le run while DG shoots at a historic 2-year pace in the playoffs, now Belinelli is a hero and Green is out because of a 1-series sample size..
He'll get his hefty contract whether it's here or elsewhere.
Spurs are going to overpay Danny to stay, tbh
27 shooting guard who can't dribble
He is Trevor Ariza material. A very good defender who can hit 3's, but can't create his own shot. That is why people who think teams are going to pay him 10mil+ are asinine. And if a team does, they are as well.
Going rate for guys like Green are 5-8 mil. Being that Green is in his prime he will get a 7-8mil a year contract tops.
Danny is a streaker shooter. That is probably not going to change at this point. It should also be noted that the Clippers have done a pretty good job of denying him open looks. It is much harder to establish a shooting rhythm on 2 to 3 open looks a game, especially when you can not create your own shot.
However, without his defense on CP3, Spurs probably lose this series in 5, maybe even get swept. Danny is going to get paid this offseason. I can't see him making less than $8 million a year on his next contract. $10 million is definitely within reach.
Trevor Ariza can dribble a basketball
For a SG, he is not that good. He has slightly better handles than Green, but not by much.
Dannys defence has not been good in this series
You've been around long enough to see how people react to 1-game sample sizes...
it will be funny when the Spurs do overpay a guy that can't dribble and shoots airbals 3 feet away from the rim.
sucker needs to work on his game!!!
Even with his epic fail of a series he's going to get paid well. The only question is whether the Spurs will give a big enough one to keep him from leaving.
This, he blew nuts in 2012 but was godly in 13 and 14. Regression to the mean tbh.
So would overpaying him.
I'd like for the Spurs to keep him but I think they are going to be miles apart from his value. And someone is going to be willing to throw a lot of money at him.
So he's a good defender and streaky 3 point shooter. 3 point shooters aren't hard to find. My guess is they can find a solid defender that can dribble drive and just look to others for the 3 pointer. Spurs have a history of making any shooter look great in this system. Neal, RMJ.
If Danny's 3's are not falling, he's absolutely useless on offense. No penetration, no mid range game, can' finish anything at the rim, has the worst floater in the history of basketball, and is a turnover waiting to happen every time he dribbles the ball or passes it after putting it on the floor. Yikes....
He'll be 28 next month. This is his last chance to get a big contract imo. He'd be silly not to take it if it's offered.
He's not going to improve his game at this point.
If Spurs aren't able to replace Green, it would be a disaster. Need to see what Tim and Manu are doing and make plans from there. If both are running it back, best option to me is to resign Green and use the full MLE on someone good. A lot will be dictated by whether Spurs operate below or above the cap.
He's a defensive specialist. Who is going to defend the opposing team's best or second best player with the kind of results he puts up. Don't get me wrong he's not worth a huge amount, but a splitter size contract isn't out of the question.
Pretty sure he's gone, and it's not as big of a loss as many fear. Splitter should be sent back home in a box.
I agree with that. It's all premature until they know the whole picture. But I think someone is going to overpay Green. At some point, it's going to make more sense for the Spurs to let him go. I hope not. But he's the type of player that historically, the Spurs have let move on. Yet somehow Bonner remains.
once Manu retires we are not going anywhere with a SG that can't dribble the basketball.
bye Danny
