Because he's Pop, and nobody has questioned him since 99.
I don't disagree that last night's performance was uninspired and disappointing on many levels but look in the mirror please.
We're up by 11 in a close out game at home, are firing on all cylinders with Marco shooting the lights out, have the crowd behind us with all the momentum and our hall of fame coach decides to slow down the game, silence the crowd, allow the Clippers to focus their reeling defence and above all, give them free points.....
Yet in the postgame it's the soft card?
Pete Carroll will have to answer for passing on the one yard line for the rest of his career, why does Pop get a free pass for an equally head scratching bit of coaching?
Because he's Pop, and nobody has questioned him since 99.
He sucks, You´ll see how things go without Duncan and Manu.
We weren't firing on all cylinders, Belli was. Prior to his outburst the team looked like just like they did basically all game.4
Just a ty overall performance outside of 2-3 guys, Pop included.
Pretty much agree with poster above. We were pussy out there just so happens Ferrari wanted to close this out. Sure pop ed up but so did the rest of the team save Diaw
The keys to victory are:
Hack-a-Jordan
Brick-a-Parker

Thanks to Pop's hacking, the Clippers starters weren't nearly exhausted at the end of the game. POS
The Spurs own free throw shooting has been so ing bad this series.
Abymisal.
Meh, if anyone paid any attention to basketball down the stretch, the Clippers came into the postseason nearly as hot as the spurs did. Right now are a top 3 team in the NBA, have a coach he has gotten a lot out of his teams in the playoffs (look at the 2012 celtics, a team that was .500 halfway through ending up pushing the heat to a game 6 at home, etc).
The Spurs have to defend better and get back to the ball movement that made them dangerous. Too much individual action which doesn't favor the Spurs.
This sums up the series. More perplexing is that it's not even the same three guys each night.
True, but Pop should have ridden the momentum Beli gave us, instead he did the opposite with hack-a-Jordan.
The hack a Jordan should only be used when the team is off rhythm, behind on points and/or Clippers in offensive hot runs, but that is common sense.
It should only have been used last game nearing the end of the fourth quarter, but Pop got bored and decided to use it early for fun.
