Smith is correct. Clips won the series. Spurs were clueless, uninspired and solidly beaten on their home court.

The motion offense from last year vanished, Pop got senile and spanked by Doc, the rise of the silver porker, inability to hit free throws, ter got clogged up with pussy juice again, Manu being geriatrically inept, and then you have the DPOY choker showing the occasional flashes of brillance amidst general mediocrity.

Damn that was a thing of beauty to watch, a shame it was not near that this year.

Pop decided to try for a lob against a more athletic team that lobs all the time. Genius move.

They lost in 7 games, on a buzzer-beater, against a top 3 team in the NBA, after struggling all year with injuries and the mileage of 2 deep runs into June..I don't know why people are overanalyzing..

I'm completely surprised that Stephen A. took our side for once. Probably because we lost.

Exactly. This series was a coin flip. , Game 7 with 31 lead changes was a coin flip. It just didn't go our way.

The Clippers played near perfect and the Spurs didn't play their best and Pop didn't coach his best.

Preciscely. They essentially won because the game is 48 minutes long. Not 48 minutes and 10 seconds. It was back and forth and the team with the ball last was going to win.

Clippers are a good team. They might end up being a great team after this playoff run, we'll see. They looked good game 1 against the Rockets

The Spurs lost this during the regular season, when they failed to secure the 2nd seed (and home court advantage) with that last game against the Pelicans.

Great teams find a way to defend their le. The Spurs failed to achieve this greatness.

I agree. It was for all intents and purposes over with the Pelicans loss. With a WC finals and Two Finals appearances with an older team, asking the Spurs to go three straight rounds without home court was too much to ask. I mean Pop basically said the team had nothing left in the tank.

    These Things Happened:

    1. Patty Mills offseason surgery and related recovery time.
    2. Kawhi Leonard's early season maladies with eye and hand.
    3. Tiago's baffling, season long calf injury.
    4. Tony Parker's midseason hamstring injury and lack of confidence to play through it.
    5. Relapse of Tiago's calf injury at the end of the season - when Spurs were rolling.
    6. Tony Parker's Achilles injury early in 1st round.
    7. Poor play by Green & Leonard (without having injury excuses) in 1st rd.
    8. Manu losing to father time and being counted on to do more than realistically possible.

Take that stuff away and the Spurs repeat. Not even close. Essentially - Green, Splitter, Parker, Leonard and Manu were unable to replicate their impact from the previous year. The Spurs could have made up for maybe 2 or 3 of those guys but all 5? No way.
