I Think his is, I mean who can dispute what he has done allready in his career to be the best 8 year start of any PF in NBA history?

    # 2003 USA Basketball Men's Senior National Team
    # All-NBA First Team 2003
    # NBA Finals MVP 1999, 2003, 2005
    # Two-time Most Valuable Player (2001-02 and 2002-03)
    # Named the NBA Finals MVP in both 1999 and 2003 to become just the third player in history to earn Finals MVP honors in each of their first two trips to the Finals (joining Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan)
    # Just the second player in NBA history to be named to both an All-NBA Team and an All-Defensive Team in each of his first seven seasons (David Robinson was the first)
    # Has been named to the All-NBA First Team all eight seasons, the first player since Larry Bird (fifth in NBA history: Baylor, Bird, Duncan, Pet and Robertson) to be named All-NBA First Team in each of his first six seasons
    # Has earned a spot on the All-Defensive First Team each of the last seven seasons after being named to the All-Defensive Second Team as a rookie in '97-98
    # Won the 1998 Rookie of the Year
    # Named co-MVP of the 2000 All-Star Game
    # Been named an All-Star eight straight seasons (no game was held in 1999)
    # Ranks seventh among active players in playoff career scoring average with 23.9 ppg
    # Played for the USA Team in the 1999 Americas Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico, was selected to play for the U.S. Team in the 2000 Olympics but had to withdraw due to a knee injury
    # Leads all players in the NBA in double-doubles over the last eight seasons
    # Named to the All Tournament Team for the 2003 FIBA Americas Men’s Qualifying Tournament after leading the U.S. Team to the Gold Medal

And to top it all, 3 championship rings!!!!

All this before the age of 30!!!

Can someone tell me what PF has had a better start than this?

Please explain to all of us here how KG, Jermaine O'Neal, and Sir Charles are better than Tim. Neither of them has won a NBA Championship. None of those three can even touch Tim. None.

Anyone that says that sir Charles, Karl Malone, or Jermaine Oneal are better than Duncan probably rode the little yellow bus to school. Re s pure re s, look at the rings, look at the MVP trophies....Duncan carries teams, jealousy causes stupid people to make stupid judgements on saying those pf's were better than Tim

I am sorry, but i shall disagree, in my completely unbiased opinion:

    my neighbors' girlfriend's cat's uncle's owner's 3rd cousin > Duncan

    Even him.

    U see we've got KG, Sir Charles, JR Reid, J. O'Neal and Obi's neighbors' girlfriend's cat's uncle's owner's 3rd cousin

Tim is simply not the best PF in history

I've always felt that Duncan is more than a PF...he is a PF/C. He is the best big man in the game right now. Not Shaq not KG, not Jermaine. Duncan is simply the best in the leauge right now. As for all time? it's hard to say. I know Karl Malone never won a championship but he was amazing for about 20 seasons.
If Tim Duncan would have led TEAM USA to Gold in Athens I think that would have qualified him as the best power forward ever. I have to go with Karl Malone for now...but I'm sure Tim Duncan will pass him some day. Don't get me wrong I think Tim Duncan is a better player than Karl Malone was but it's because I feel like Timmy is more than a PF also a C. Couldn't say that about the mailman.

The fact that Tim can play BOTH PF and C equally well, as opposed to the mailman....shouldn't that be a plus?

Also, Mailman was deceptive. John Stockton made him who he was. Mailman choked way too often in big games to be considered top PF in my book.
