I did not think Joseph was an NBA player when he arrived. However, to give the little er his due props, he has worked hard and improved in virtually every measurable statistic every year, including the unmeasurable statistic of hard work, effort and heart.
Some games he has played extremely well. He's doing much better than I expected.

He doesn't get paid much and doesn't play a whole lot, but unless we find someone with a lot more skills, I don't mind him as a reserve on the bench. What do you think?
He's worked on his midrange a lot but he still hesitates. Still a ty three pointer.
A great 3rd PG imo...
Realistically though, he probably wants a bigger role.
Spurs need shooters, and he'll cost too much if we want to prioritize on a big splash in free agency. Let him walk. He'll be in China within 2-3 years
Jeremy Lin... That's someone who can play make if Manu does retire
It's been a slow, yet steady progression. He's a solid defender, but I don't trust him running the offense - if he sticks around it's hopefully for the 3rd PG position and a low salary. Luckily I don't think he seems like the type of guy that would demand a big payday, and he also seems loyal to the organization. Hope he stays with us.
Shooters? Not the usual requirement for a PG, but if you look at the chart I posted, he brought his overall average to over 50% this year. That;s better than Lin last year.
How much better shooting do you expect from a 3rd string PG that only costs about $2 million a year. That's peanuts, compared to Lin's salary of over $8 million with the Lakers.
He want to have more playing time.
So goodbye and thank for everything Cory![]()
His defense is a bit overrated from playing with Leonard/Green, those were his best defensive showings it seemed. The Spurs were so far yet so close to an ATG defense, all they needed were a few more athletes to put around those 2.
I wanted to see Splitter (100%)-Green-KY-Joseph-Mills or Manu lineup. The Spurs ran it like once against GS, completely locked them down, the defense was insane.
