let's get it in Spur fan....I think this kid will win us just as many les as Timmy did for SA...they're basically carbon copies of each other....if David Robinson who played with Duncan can admit it then I have no reason to believe it's not true...David would know

The Admiral—who played alongside Duncan in San Antonio for six seasons—tweeted his impressions of Okafor, who turned in a 20-point, 10-rebound performance as part of the Duke rout.

killa pointed it out. I thought okafors weight is gonna be an issue but he has really slimmed down and he looks good. Never seen a big run the floor like him. And those mitts, my goodness, this dude effortlessly scores.

Can't wait to see what KAJ will do with him.

Not predicting duncanesque but the fact he is taking this seriously and is locked in shows me something. Plus despite some iffy tournament games he was the best player on a le team. Sure, Melo and Kemba Walker and even Shabazz Napier can claim that ...but something about being the #1 HS player, a freshman all -american and then leading a team to a le means something. At ties Tyus and Justise were able to step up when he faltered ...but now with the new shape he is inI think he will be fine. Really Lakers will get a good big or Russell.

I will say this for the Rusell contingent and the fact the game is de-emphasizing big men ... IF prime duncan or shaq or even Blake was in this draft along with steph or Harden ...I am still taking the big ...I dont care what the game is evolving to. Duncan would still be great in this era. Again, not saying either big is tim or even close maybe a poor man's Timmy at best ...but I would rather have a poor man's Duncan than a poor man's steph or Harden. But i think the dummies that are pushing russell just because of the space and pace is silly. You take a big or a elite wing. The le teams in my lifetime have all been led by elite players 6 foot 6 or bigger or dominant big men. Only Isiah and the Badboys is the exception and maybe the 2004 Pistons. Since there is no elite wing you go big.

Russell would hve to have a Kobesque workout to change my mind.

Kobe reminds a lot of people of Jordan, but that doesn't mean he was anywhere close to as good.

It's like a Hyundai reminds some people of the BMW because Hyundai's chief designer used to design BMWs, but a Hyundai is still a Hyundai, and it's nowhere close to a BMW.

That said, I am giving too much credit to Okafor or Kobe, the game between Okafor and Duncan, and Kobe and Jordan is WAY larger than the gap between a Hyundai and a BMW.

Hey watch the Hyundai talk, Amb. The 2015 Genesis is nothing to sneeze at it beats a BMW 300 series in many ways ...

And of course Kobe, kobe Kobe for chrisssakes Amb can you get that dude out your head. Dude has been irrelevant for 3 years running ...

It's not about that. Lakers have been putrid on defense & its coincided with the darkest period in their history. If you are comparing someone to Tim, they better be an all world defender

Look at the remaining teams - outside of CLE all very good defenses.

Tim wasn't an all world defender coming out of Wake Forest..in fact he was getting ted on routinely due to all the good quality big men at the time...Jahill will benefit greatly from not having that many quality bigs to deal with.. and he will catch Tim defensively much quicker....

They're at the same defensive level and offensive level coming out of college....I will give Okufer the edge because we have Kareem, Magic, and Worthy plus a 5 time champ on the team to pressure him into being great...and you better around and hope we don't get Towns....either way can't lose

In isolation situations in college, Okafor was giving up an adjusted field goal percentage of 44.6 percent to his opponents and ranked in the lower 70 percent of college basketball in isolation defense - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/columns/david-n....n9YnsEJU.dpuf
