Why would the Kings trade their all-star power forward/center to a division rival?![]()

The Lakers would appear to have limited assets to get into the trade sweepstakes for Cousins -- in the event that Sacramento's stance changes -- beyond surrendering prized young big man Julius Randle, young guard Jordan Clarkson and the No. 2 overall pick in Thursday's draft. The Lakers, furthermore, could not legally trade the No. 2 pick until after making the selection and introducing that player as a Laker, since teams as precluded from trading first-round picks in consecutive drafts and the Lakers' 2016 first-rounder is already owed to Philadelphia.

Yeah, zero chance of this happening unless the Lakers trades all their assets.
If we had to trade #2, #27 and #34 and Swaggy or Sacre to get it done. Accepted only if they give us back #6 so we can take Mudiay or Winslow ...
Otherwise no deal. We give up a big that cant defend but on a low contrac for abig 5 years older on a reasonable contract but a contract that is double?
Nahh take oak or Russell unless they give us cousins plus #6 or we get back our future first rounder and keep #27 ...
barring this being another rigged Laker trade, it ain't happening.
Doubt it as well. Unless we can "rape" Vlade in a trade let it go ...
Keep dreaming
Wouldn't be shocked if the dumbass Kings owner would entertain trading of the best big men in the league for a player coming off a major injury, a rookie player that had a good season for a terrible team and a very good one dimensional player. Hopefully George Karl tells the owner that he's a dumbass .
Could this be the one big man Kobe can't run off due to lack of time? Possibly?
That's fine they can keep Cousins.
Vlade already came out and shot down this trade idea...though u never know
The Kobe/DMC combo would be marvelous tbh. The Kings ain't selling him cheap but it's not like the Lakers have any future to save for. Kobe is 36 and he ain't having many years in front of him, so the best the Lakers can do is beef up the team with instant power and hope Kobe stays healthy so they can make one last push for the NBA championship imho. The team is tied to mediocrity for years after Kobe retires, anyway.
+1 exactly
That's the scary thing, i could see them getting another rigged trade. It's a business and taking care of the bandwagoners is smart if ed up. The league knows that Kobe can only win with an all star big in his prime.
Yeah, pretty much. Kings.ownership also reiterated it
Even if Divacs entertained our offer we have absolutely nothing to offer but our #2. That's it.
Please. He'd & fall back in it.
I don't think so. Kobe's contract ends at the end of next season and we'll have enough cap space to sign two max players. That coupled with Clarkson, Randle, Towns/Okafor and possibly Kobe on a veteran contact sounds a lot better than blowing your load on a head case.
Lakers need to consider getting out of the lottery. Holy times have changed.
Boogie with the goods.
Cousins is a malcontent. Chemistry on that team would be ed.
