Couldn't find an appropriate place to post this, which is why I created a new one.
This is probably Duncan's last year, and almost certainly Manu's last year. I'd really like to see the opening night starting lineup as follows:
Parker
Manu
Kawhi
Lamarcus
Duncan
I know this wouldn't be the starting lineup all season, or ever again, and I don't care how long they play before subbing out, but it would be a really cool thing to do to start off this year.

Tell Manu to start the first pre-season game then.
That's re ed.
That would be cool but highly doubtful unless DG gets the s that night.
I really hoped Manu had enough in the tank in '14 to win FMVP. Would have been so awesome to have all big 3 with a FMVP
He was the real FMVP in '05, tbh.
should retroactively give him '05
Manu's Last Stand, but barring an unforeseen serious injury, it's not Timmy's last year... Book it!
I'm down with that lineup for opening night tho. Legendary.
Tbh, it's easier to give a player a standing ovation when he's checking in than during the introductions when it all gets drowned out.
But if Manu wants to start for a ceremonial purpose, Pop should let him.
Pop should troll the league and rest his stars on opening night.![]()
manu should not start
No doubt Manu will get an ovation coming in for the first time, but a public gesture by Pop would be kind of cool. I'm sure Danny would be happy to give up the spot. I'm sure Manu wouldn't ask to start. That's the point of the gesture, since many Argentine fans still see making him come off the bench as an insult. Manu's had to deal with that bull for years and didn't complain about it.
I'd love that, but the Spurs won't be on the national TV schedule on opening night. I'd save that for the first TV game.
I think he is meaning it is for 1 game. The opening game of the season. After that Green is the starter as should be. But to show respect to Manu for all that he has done, let him start his last opening season game with us. you can still only play him 20 minutes that night. Just pay some homage.
Well besides injuries, it will be his only time to start.
