It wasn't a book about the origins of slavery, it was a book full of letters written by slaves. It is called "To Be A Slave" it was published in 1968 with Julius Lester the "author".

I'm pretty sure the Anglos would have turned to the Irish, their first indentured servants. They also abused Chinese immigrants and of course the Natives. The French had this piece, but it was returned to Egypt. It was most likely better off in France. The Arabs are some destructive savages with no true appreciation for history. Quite a bit of the remaining artifacts were destroyed during the Arab spring. A company I've traveled with canceled their tour to Egypt due to those savages. I was trying to go there this month but its not safe... so they say. The graffiti on the pyramids these days.
