Yes, not much flexibility, but if you think that team was 3 games short of NBA Finals good, you would be in for a rude awakening..a choking Clipper team + a banged up, cancer-infested Mavs team (Rondo) with severely declined Dirk are not a reliable measuring stick, tbh..Surprised Morey didn't look to take huge swing in offseason (especially on the Aldridge front)..

They went after Aldridge. He was always going to SA. Btw, what should they have done? They were down two starters, and re-signed Bev and Brew. They shouldn't make drastic moves.

Grizz didn't do either. Replaced Koufos with Brandan Wright, traded for Matt Barnes (lol) who was about to be waived by Charlotte anyway, and drafted a couple of busts. Our GM also refused to entertain any trade offers for Tony Allen while his trade value was at an all time high. That son of a does more harm than good and needs to be traded for an actual wing who can shoot BEFORE he loses a step and becomes untradeable.

Our first round pick (Jarrell Martin) has a Jones fracture in his foot. The exact same type of injury that has ended many big's careers in the NBA. Of course, this was news to our GM the day after the draft, but he would never admit that he didn't know about it.

Hollinger isn't our GM. It's the Chris Wallace show right now. Hollinger was in charge of the draft last year and wouldn't you know it, we got 2 solid young prospects.

Martin and Harrison has Wallace written all over it. "OOO look at the former 5* composite #10 overall player from high school who underwhelmed in college. I'm gonna draft ANOTHER one just to see what happens."

But doesn't he have a big voice in trade/drafts as VP of basketball operation? thought he is influential..

Go to that website that shows the history of GM's and all of the moves they've made and pull up Chris Wallace. Do you see ONE good move on that list? This is the guy who traded Joe Johnson and Chauncey Billups for junk and drafted a JUCO player with a lottery pick. He's a ing dumbass.

Wallace seemingly gets a lifetime pass for putting our core of Conley, Marc, and Zach together, but he hasn't done a damn thing to fill any of the glaring roster holes we've had in the past few playoff runs. He sure does like to trade away 1st rounders, take on salary for other teams without anything in return (looking at you Boston), and sign washed up vets.

They finally got that two seed they have been saying was locked up since about 08 though.

That was a gift from the Grizzlies, who decided they were done playing serious basketball after the ASB was over. Of course, unlike the real elite teams in the NBA, the Grizz are neither talented nor deep enough to "coast" and avoid playing .500 basketball.

Aldridge wasn't that of a lock for SA; Rockets didn't go the salary dump/trade route for him like, say, PHX..I think the intention all along was mostly to not shake up the group..

That is exactly what he was. He did the grand tour as a favor to the NBA. His agent brokered it for him. (You scratch my back, I'll rub your ding dong.)

If/when they get Ty Lawson they'll improve, but until Harden stops choking in the postseason and McFail is let go for a real coach they won't win anything.

Ty Lawson will be out of the league in a year or two. Not many full blown alcoholics on NBA rosters.

What were they supposed to do though tbh...didn't have much flexibility and what top FA wants to play 2nd fiddle to Harden and play with boy Dwight?

They need a 3rd banana who is a legit playoff performer capable of taking over games whenever Harden turn on choke-mode and Dwight enters the mental midgetry zone..

I think they bigger disappointment was picking Russell.
If Russell never plays a single game, the disappointment wouldn't be half that than MVP harden pissing away 13 possessions and the chip.

If he's serious about sticking around the league, he should sign with the Bobcats and get the PJ Hairston treatment from MJ. Gun in your car? No problem, case dismissed! DUI? No biggie, we know the judge.

If you trade Tony Allen, who's going to stop Durant in the playoffs? (Assuming his Jones fractured foot has healed for good)

Durant averaged over 30 ppg the last time we played them. Did he really stop Durant?

I'll give them Leonard for Ariza and two firsts.
