I was thinking about this the other day. It never comes on regular cable because you'd have to bleep out most of the movie. I always throw it in to my top 10 but I think it contends for número uno. I watched it again and it stands up to Shawshank scene for scene.

I take it back. The boat scene is way too long and slows the movie down. Still top 10. Probably top 5. But not in the league of Shawshank.

Like "Reservoir Dogs" I've tried "Suspects" numerous times and always end up turning the channel.
MY favorites are too close to separate: Braveheart, the LotR trilogy, Pulp Fiction
But I think the greatest movies objectively are Godfather part 1 & 2, Lawrence of Arabia, Goodfellas, and the LotR trilogy, in no order
Give me Godfather 1 and 2 over anything
