I support this only to insure Jimmer gets to wear a uniform every night
Does neone kno why 1-2 people HAVE to be benched? In today's NBA market n with strategic teams like the Spurs going 15 deep lets make enough noise that NBA considers rule change to allow 15 active players every night! Lets make noise in all the NBA forums, articles, yahoo, etc

I agree. I'm not sure of the logic of having to have 1 or 2 players in street clothes.
During the playoffs, can teams rotate which players are inactive for certain series or do the same two players stay inactive throughout the duration of the playoffs?
What 2 players will get the suit treatment if Jimmer makes the team? Boban and Jimmer? I don't remember the last time that POS Bonner had to sit out..
See the dilemma. ..heres the solution
Game by game. They changed it when we beat the NYK because Ewing was out with an injury, and they deactivated him because they were an 8 seed.
I hope one of the 2 is Kyle Anderson. Please!
I feel like it was recent that they could only have 12 active then upped to 13...might as well go all da way
Could it be the loss of two Courtside seats that otherwise could be sold to the public is what's keeping the league from dressing 15?
Yeah let's put our only true big man under 40 on IR why don't we?![]()
Who are you suggesting then? Because putting Simmons, McCallum, or KA on reserve is a waste..
I think Simmons, and McCallum should swap out nights with Jimmer and the Sloth from the Goonies. I just want to see Jimmer launch deep threes with Mongoloid Marjanovic protecting the rim and dominating the boards.
With that said it would be nice to see Simmons come off the bench to posterize someone.
KA should stay active because of that noggin of his.
Not necessary n no need for discussion if we can get media discussing to where it gets to silver's ears...much like how playoff reform started
Jimmer + Bonner or Simmons/KA. Or, what is most likely, whoever is injured.
I don't think the league wants garbage time minutes potentially being filled by the 14th/15th men on rosters as opposed to the 9th/10th men. This also is an incentive for teams to develop guys and send them to the D-League, improving that product on the court too.
I don't see the Spurs sending guys to the D-League much this year, save for some one-off stints for Bojan/Anderson/Simmons/15th man.
If each seat is $1,500 vs. $500 for second row where the suited player would otherwise sit, it's only an incremental $82k per season per additional active player. Really doesn't move the needle.
It would be four (two per team).

Spurs would be fine without any of those three on any given night.
Having a bench so loaded that you can't decide which 2 to keep on IR is definitely not the worst problem in the world to have.
Spurs would be the only team that would be in favor of changing it to a 15 man rotation. No other team, not even the Golden State Warriors would be proponents of this change - it simply means that teams will be forced to sign players to sit on the bench for nothing.
No one's proposing to require everyone to carry 15 on the roster. Teams have to carry 13, and the league overall has to carry 14 per team on average. That wouldn't have to change. But they could do away with the inactive list. If you're on the roster, you can play, period.
If people are going to make noise in the NBA forums, they should probably pick a better cause, like making any questionable block/charge call a blocking foul. It will prevent bad players from trying to draw charges and it will force bigger defenders to actually attempt shot blocks at the rim. More scoring, more exciting plays.
Inactive players / Injury Reserve players are also what allowed the Spurs to send players to the D-League to develop during the regular season like Kyle Anderson and Austin Daye. If there's a 15 person active list, it means that those players would have needed to sit at every single game and probably see 1 minute of playing time tops, if that.
No. It wouldn't mean that you couldn't assign players to the D-League. You can have fewer than the maximum number of players active. I think you have to have 8 currently. And no one says that you *have* to play all 15. There are always DNP-CDs. We're just advocating a permissive rule that up to 15 players on the roster may be active for any game.
