2 to 3 years at an all star level. A few more years after that as a solid NBA player.
2-3
4-5
Timmy redux
He recently turned 30. His game is not predicated on hops and he's fundamentally sound. His defense will likely decline first, no?
2 to 3 years at an all star level. A few more years after that as a solid NBA player.
Two to three sounds about right, could be more could be less, but I think that's the median.
In the last season on his deal in 4 years time (2018/19) he'll be 33. I'd be shocked if he isn't an All-Star that year barring injury
Sounds about right.
I think it's 4-5 more. If he was the type of player to rely on being super athletic, then I'd say 2-3. Fortunately, he's not.
i imagine he could have a similar trajectory to Dirk, tbh
If he extends his range to to be a consistent 38+ % 3pt shooter, his career will extend for a few years, maybe even his Top PF standing.
By his third season, LMA will be a fringe all-star. By his fourth season, he won't be in the running.
4-5. Playing in San Antonio will boost his career. Sadly, he may be the only Spur that makes the All Star game over the next several years.
five solid years as an all-star
together with Leonard.....
I want two. Hopefully that gives us another championship.
LaMarcus shall be the best player in the NBA this year, book it
Aldridge 2015-2016 NBA regular season MVP
His game seems like it'll age well. I could see 4-5 years then a couple lesser years
if healthy and keeping his together 4-5 is a pretty reachable goal. even likely
who knows tbh ?
Duncan was supposed to be a TOSB 5 years ago and look at him
How old is Dirk? He's been finished for a few seasons now
3-4 years at a pretty high level is not unreasonable.
I think of him as a Dirk type player who has a very strong post up and jump shot game. Dirk was the Mavies "go to" guy at 32-33 years old in 2011 when they sneaked in that fluke trophy.
+1
I think Dirk's skill set is very similar to LMA's, though Dirk did it better. With the Spurs med staff and current sports medicine, LMA's game should age similarly. Dirk was great in 2013-14 at age 35, he averaged 23.8 PPG and 6.8 RPG with a PER of 23.6. LMA has a chance to explode to places previously unseen since his tank is still full, but if he was "Dirk" good he never has the chance to leave Portland. Dirk is on a short list of players I wish were Spurs.
Of course Duncan had a better season as a 36 yr old...
You missed the part where he had Tiago looking like a bonified All-Star.
bonified?
Depends on Pop and the Spurs.
4-5 imho, but he'll still be a valuable starter for a couple of seasons after that
speaking of ultra athleticism, how long do you think Westbrook, one of if not the most super athletic players in the league right now, has left at his current level, and when it is gone, is his career done? Because that is what all of his game seems to be based around.
You mean the Dirk that let Tiago average an amazing 10/9 while taking the Spurs to 7 games. Mmmmm k
