Solid read regarding the grand ol Southern Baptist Convention imo
" Evangelical Christianity has long had a stranglehold on how Americans imagine public faith. Vague invocations of “religion”—whether it’s “religion vs. science” or “religious freedom”—usually really mean “conservative, Protestant, evangelical Christianity,” and this assumption inevitably frames debates about American belief. For the other three-quarters of the population—Catholics, Jews,*other Protestants,*Muslims, Hindus, secular Americans, Buddhists, Wiccans, etc.—this can be infuriating. For some evangelicals, it’s a sign of success, a linguistic triumph of the culture wars......"

Solid read regarding the grand ol Southern Baptist Convention imo
The word Southern in Southern Baptist Convention stems from its having been founded and rooted in the Southern United States, following a split from northern Baptists over the issue of slavery; the specific issue was whether slave owners could serve as missionaries.

The entire basis of these religions is to define a group and then exclude, denigrate, shame, condemn, agitate against all the people who don't belong.
Yes, I will agree that many whites want to denigrate their towns.
oh...nevermind. I was pronouncing it wrong.
A known cuck calling others "freaks"
says dude that visualizes "cucktainers", naked black guys and worships Donald Trump
Ever notice how atheists are always taking care of orphans, the sick, the elderly, or sheltering the homeless, or feeding the hungry, or volunteering to help people after disasters?
Me neither. Thankfully, there are freaks out there.
This one does. Next.
We recommend giving to organizations which provide real relief to victims of tragedy, and not to organizations which use your charitable donations for proselytizing those who are most vulnerable.

The website actually makes a good point.
See randomguy's flood thread
Oh, well, hey everybody, DarrinS hasn't met atheists who do volunteer work or donate to charity, so guess that proves they never do.
Ridiculous. I donate to charity every once in a while. Clothes, old cars. It's absurd to think such things are reserved to religious persons, or even just Christians.
The republican south gives over 1% more of its income to charity than the liberal north east. That 1% adds up to a lot.
Get back to us when a mega-church grifter pastor, any grifter pastor, stands up against USA war mongering, drone killings, planet-wide murdering mafia.
Repug-voting Christians don't scream when Repugs cut the social welfare net, support of poor kids and women, homeless.
Self-congratulating, preening, holier-than-thou Christians don't have a monopoly on good works, good deeds. They probably give more to support their pastors' $M homes, jets, lifestyles than to charity.
I wonder what percentage of that is a result of bible belters hing 10% of their income to their local church as God commands them to, in which case the vast majority of money is reinvested in the church and goes toward proselytizing. Wouldn't really consider that charity.
??.
