SAN ANTONIO — A Jewish community on the North Side woke to widespread anti-Semitic vandalism Wednesday morning that included spray-painted swastikas, “KKK” lettering and other hateful slurs.
“(We are) saddened and outraged,” said Howard Feinberg, a board member of the Rodfei Sholom Congregation, located near Northwest Military Drive and Huebner Road. “When we were finishing our morning prayers around 7 a.m., we became aware that in the neighborhood around our synagogue, there was a lot of graffiti of the anti-Semitic and racial nature.”
More than 30 cars and houses were tagged with hateful graffiti, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Additionally, Feinberg said, at least one vehicle had a large rock thrown through the driver-side window.
The Orthodox synagogue serves about 300 families, many of whom live nearby.

A large amount of graffiti was painted on Sholom Drive and Sholom Place surrounding the congregation’s synagogue. More has been located in the Oak Meadow subdivision across Northwest Military, Feinberg said.
“(We are) outraged that in this day and age there are people who still live in their own minds and own worlds where it seems to be okay to hate people based on their religion,” he said.
While community members work to wash the hateful messages from their homes, Feinberg said they already have their eyes on the future.
“We are cleaning up and moving on,” he said, adding that he hopes those responsible will get help.

“We’d be happy to help you find it,” he said. “If you want to learn a little bit more about the people you hate, we could arrange that, too. (You could) learn more about Jews and people of color so you don’t just hate blindly.”

It's the summer, kids are out and about being bored. I'm thinking it was a band of high school boys who decided to be cute and stupid and do some stupid so it could make the news and they could laugh about it within themselves. I highly doubt any of them are KKK or Nazi affiliated. Too rich of an area of town for those racist people to live in.
At least they capitalized, "******".
If I was the police, I would start investigating Middle/ high school and college boys of that area.
lol these kids on summer vacation have bigger balls than m>s ever will
Did you notice how he was MIA from this place after his boy Dylann went into that Charleston church? I for reals thought it was him, he was completely disappeared.
Nice to know the Jews have their own personal FBI and Homeland Security agents on speed dial.

This morning vandalism, along with racist and anti-Semitic graffiti, was discovered in the neighborhood of Congregation Rodfei Sholom. Property, homes and a car were affected in the neighborhood adjacent to Rodfei Sholom, as well as in the neighborhood directly across NW Military Highway. The incident was reported immediately, and Rodfei Sholom has been working closely with the San Antonio Police Department. The Community Relations Council (CRC) and the Jewish Federation have also been in close communication with Rabbi Aryeh Scheinberg and the leadership of Rodfei Sholom, along with our local FBI and Department of Homeland Security contacts, to ensure that the proper procedures are in place.
We are grateful for the support of many local officials and friends from the larger San Antonio community who have reached out to us today, in particular. Our San Antonio Jewish population is proud of its strong relationships with the wider community.
We are hopeful that this is an isolated incident and that the perpetrators will be called to account for what they've done. But we remain vigilant in our determination that San Antonio remain a peaceful, tolerant and welcoming place for a diversity of religious expressions and racial and ethnic identification.
Below you will find information from the Secure Community Network (SCN), along with a message specifically to the San Antonio Jewish community.
Please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] for further information.
