SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) - After the San Antonio Spurs no longer could afford him, Devin Brown has found a new team.
The Utah Jazz on Wednesday signed the restricted free agent guard.
Terms were not disclosed, but the Salt Lake Tribune reported the Jazz offered a two-year deal worth a little more than $5 million. San Antonio failed to match Utah's offer sheet Friday.
"I'm excited to come to Utah," Brown told the newspaper. "I'll play hard every night. One thing about watching Utah play is they play hard every night. One of the attractions for playing for Utah is having a coach like coach (Jerry) Sloan."
The NBA champion Spurs have strengthened their team in the offseason, signing guard Nick Van Exel and forward Michael Finley.
Brown, 26, played in 67 games for the Spurs last season, averaging 7.4 points and 2.6 rebounds. He missed some games late in the season with a back injury, but returned for the playoffs.
In three season, the 6-5 Brown has averaged 5.6 points and 2.4 rebounds.

Wow. I knew Devin was gone and I was fine with not resigning him.
But gosh it seems wrong to have his name on another team's roster, doesn't it?
Well there you have it.
Oh no.
