It’s not the first time Gatti has been in trouble. While a student at the University of Massachusetts last year, he was arrested twice on disorderly conduct charges, according to the Daily Hampshire Gazette newspaper in Northampton, Mass.
In one of the incidents, he allegedly broke the hand of a police officer. In his first encounter with police on the 2014 Labor Day weekend, the paper reported, Gatti was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
The second time, he was arrested at a loud party, the Gazette reported. According to police, he repeatedly yelled at officers and was again taken into custody on a charge of disorderly conduct.
In addition, according to the paper, he also struggled with a police sergeant while being booked at the police station, a confrontation that broke the hand of the officer, leading to a charge of assault and battery. The officer was away from work for several weeks.
