Hopefully he can upgrade to the Prigioni role from here until the playoff (), tbh..
Everyone has false hope that he can still improve. If he were to make progress he would have taken baby steps by now. Especially since he played with the French national team. Just proves to show that his "injuries" last year were not the reason for his awful play.
Saying that Pop will not put his pride aside. Its like the coaches son who eveyone knows shouldn't be starting, but gets more Pt than everyone. Even when Patty comes in for 5 mins and contributes more than Parker does in 28, like the clippers series last year.

I think we're lucky to have Parker. I lamented his play last year, but perhaps that was a bit premature. Tony is a smart player. He wants to win. This season is a new beginning. Mills offers more obvious punch off the bench, but Patty has so far proven himself to be a really short (albeit awesome) shooting guard. Parker may not have blazing speed anymore, but I trust him to take care of the ball and start the offense. I think Pop probably has felt similarly and that's why he's stuck with him.
Mills is a great spark of energy, but he's a little unproven as a big-minute point guard. Patty is worth every cent we've spent on him. What may really hurt is the absence of CoJo.
But I'm looking forward with optimism for Tony's contribution this year. Remember when Duncan was "washed up"? That didn't last long (relatively speaking). Parker has the greatest example in the world in Duncan. And, as Ginobili showed, it doesn't matter if you start. It matters if you finish. The only game that matters is the last game of the year. Win that and you accomplished the mission.
