Absolutely ... both "krews" keep on and on when in the end this was a Spurs loss
The two guys that did the most to get us the win vs the Wizards are the two guys everyone is trying to blame for the loss.
There were 44 minutes of basketball in which there were plenty of mistakes made by many different players. This was a team loss, they were out of rhythm the whole game. The only reason we were in position to win was because of Kawhi and Tony.

Welcome to Spurstalk?
Kiwi choked in the clutch. It's in his DNA. A Kawhi led team is a guaranteed first round exit, and he makes no one on the team better.
Spurs 0-2 when Kawhobe has 0 assists
ST still has a lot of good takes, but this forum ain't what it used to be.
All the Popsuckers that scoffed and tried to ridicule me when I said that Pop is still the biggest obstacle to the Spurs winning a le....
what is the reasoning now?
Where is the Coach of the year?
Bonner still the first "big" off the bench...
No sight of a TD/Tiago pairing....
Blair...6'7'' starting center ...
Being embarrassed by MIKE BROWN....MIKE IN' BROWN!
McRoberts posterizing Bonner....Pop pulls Bonner...Pop puts Bonner right back in...GENIUS!
No One on the Spurs with any desire...any fire...any balls...and Coach Pop didn't change anything...just kept the same rotation...the same everything....
This is what the Playoffs have in store...and this is exactly what happened last season...
Pop has had two seasons now with Splitter...and in two seasons...he has not been able to "find time" to try and integrate his only two players approaching 7 feet....this is the NBA where being tall is something that can't be taught...on top of that Splitter is not just some "serviceable' "blue collar" role player...he can actually be an asset by his mere presence on the court with his vision, passing, and basketball IQ...but head coach has pissed away two seasons....
This seasons playoffs are just about here and head coach is right on cue to get embarrassed again....
COTY....![]()
Spurs 1-0 at home and 2-2 on the road with an entirely new system and strategy trying to incorporate a new all star. Even 19 year veteran Tim Duncan said he isn't yet exactly sure what his role on the team is. Grind it out on the road and try win at home while everyone sorts their new roles out.
Everyone is doing ok except maybe Green and West.
West 3ppg, 2rpg, 1apg, 57% in 12 minutes per game
Aldridge 15ppg, 10rpg, 41% FG in 32 minutes per game (career low so far, that'll improve when he is less hesitant and knows what he's doing)
Diaw 7ppg, 3rpg, 3.5 apg, 52% shooting in 19 minutes per game
Duncan 11ppg, 9rpg, 3.4apg, 1.2bpg, 49% pretty much what you expect in 29 minutes per game
Manu 11ppg, 3rpg, 3.8apg, 1.4spg, 1.8 turnovers in 20 minutes, 52%FG, 47%3PTFG, pretty much what we expect from manu
Mills 7ppg, 2rpg, 2apg, 53%FG 53%3PTFG
Leonard 21.6ppg, 9.2rpg, 2spg, 1.6bpg, 48%FG, 25%3PTFG
Green 6.4ppg, 5.2rpg, 1spg, 29%FG, 20%3PTFG
Parker 11.8ppg, 3apg, 54%FG, 1.8 turnovers in 27 minutes
That's the main rotation early on:
Negatives:
Too many jumpers and not enough free throw attempts.
Green has lost his shot and I think that effects his D
Leonard needs to improve his 3 PT shot
West WTF
Aldridge FG%
Accommodating budding MVP Candidate Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge the Spurs have changed into a more isolation offense instead of 'the beautiful game' we witnessed in the 2014 finals where the ball whipped around the court at warp speed and nobody cared who was shooting and scoring. The offense this year is a little stagnant trying to give Kawhi and LaMarcus the shots they want, and deserve. It's going to be a hard an interesting year for Pop to work things out.
Positives:
Aldridge rebounding at about the same rate as TD
Parker is doing just fine as a role playing PG, not an All NBA PG
Improvements:
West needs to improve everything
LMA needs to improve his % once he becomes comfortable
Green cant hit the ocean if he was in a boat, he needs his shot back. When his 3 is on the team is scary.
A nice mixture between 'the beautiful game' of 2014 and what we have now
Spurs 99.2PPG which you expect to go up
Spurs 92 opponent PPG which is very good
Losses against a good Thunder team (we did have a 7 point lead in the 4th quarter) and a loss at the buzzer against the Wizards on a en 3 with 0.3 seconds left (terrible D from Aldridge on that mismatch)
This is a new team with a new strategy and it's going to take some time to gel. Still, 3-2, 100% at home, the 2 losses were very avoidable and we could be 5-0 even though the team doesn't know how to play together yet. 77 games left to learn how to play together. Just need to fix a few things, looking forward to an exiting and challenging season

I mean, Parker and Leonard did a lot of good things to help the team Wednesday, but blaming the leading scorers for bad offense is hardly faulty logic. OKC's offense sucked despite having the perennial scoring champ and Westbrook. You can carry a team and still be a reason why the team loses. I haven't even thought about blaming anyone for the Wizards loss, but I wouldn't dismiss Parker or Leonard just because the box score.
This forum has ALWAYS had stupid logic. If ST had its way, Pop would have been fired years ago. And the Spurs would be the Lakers or Knicks of today haha.
I'm also trying to hold our max player, who has played 4 seasons in the Spurs system, accountable.
Yeah, we've lost 2 games, one by 6, the other by 3. And Pop is still experimenting. I think we're gonna be ok.
Because nothing was done to curb the incessant spamming from a number of posters. , xmas lasted a long time on here doing some plainly illegal . Still took forever to get the banhammer leveled at him.
Leave a circus alone long enough and you'll have nothing but monkeys. Now you have a few posters who are so thirsty for attention they'll do anything they can to get people to talk to them. It's like myspace whoring from back in the day, except they feel edgy because they're relatively anonymous and using the word " got" a lot. If this sounds familiar to you, it should, it's basically 7th grade intellect to a T.
Also, OKC is 3-3. I guess they're not making the playoffs.
A lot of panic here 5 games in. Parker and Kawhi aren't the problems with this team. It's our lack of outside shooting, particularly from 3. We need a swing man that can spread the floor. We miss Beli, bad defense and all. Green is cold and Patty is good, but we need floor spacing from the 3. Kawhi will make 35%, but he's not going to be a volume three point shooter. That's not his strength and Spurs are trying to have him post up, which means he needs a shooter to kick the ball to when he's doubled or drives. We just don't have that right now.
Danny has been ice cold, but he's always been streaky. He's overdue for a breakout game. When he finds his stroke, Spurs will get a double-digit W.
Why is a clippers fan posting upstarts?
The work of Timvp, Bruno and others who would make well-thought out articulate posts of publishable quality is what attracted me to this site in 2008. Living far away from SA, I could get links to all the relevant articles on the Spurs in one place and often follow interesting discussions. It was the best place to come for an instant update.
I think it was after the loss to the Heat in 2013 that this place began to suffer a bit, as many of the old posters left. Then came a few posters (very few really, but they may have alts), who I truly believe are not Spurs fans but fans of other teams who have succeeded in dividing this forum into various groups. I don't think I'd ever heard the term "player fan" until this year, and I wonder if those who introduced it were not themselves trying to create dissension. The incessant Tony bashing shows a mob mentality, with the leaders doing it as loudly as possible and others meekly following just to fit in. Other posters have tried to turn Kawhi, who definitely deserves mammoth praise, into practically the sole reason we're winning, and advocated this in so many ridiculous threads, posted at such a rapid frequency, that a backlash against Leonard has developed, and now an anti-Kawhi contingent roams these boards. Throw in a few spoiled fans who want to fire Pop, despite 20 years of unparalleled success, or bench player X every time we lose a game, and discussion has been replaced by a primitive sort of tribalism. It is rather sad that these provocateurs whose agenda is clearly to create rifts among the Spurs faithful have succeeded.
Given how successful the Spurs have been for decades, if this is the high life, I'd hate to see what these sames fans would do if they were supporters of the Timberwolves, or Hornets, or Knicks or even the Clippers until recently. My guess is very little, as no one would care. But making fans of the most successful franchise of all major American sports the past 20 years, one really rivaled only by the Patriots, feel miserable and hate their own players is quite a trolling accomplishment. Congratulations. I hope it gives your life meaning.
