Austin Rivers, whether you think so or not, is ready to fill in if the Clippers need him.
The supremely confident son of the Clippers coach knew he’d be called upon to start at point guard at some point.
Starter Chris Paul played all 82 regular-season games last season and was probably due for some strains, sprains or contusions.
“I knew it was coming. Everybody knew it was coming,” Rivers said. “Chris played all 82 last year. It’s just the way it goes, especially a guy like that who’s played as many years, I just knew this year ... it’s part of the reason I wanted to come back. I knew I’d have a great opportunity to fill in his shoes when he’s down and not playing.

I don't have a problem with his thinking all this. He's just an idiot for not realizing that some things are better off left unspoken by a person in his position.
