Certainly need to be way better than that to beat GSW

Those numbers won't hold up but it's very impressive given the style of play this generation. Teams are pushing the ball and playing more pace and space. The Spurs have no problem stepping up to defend that style.
'99 Spurs would lose. For all the damage near prime David and a young Duncan would do against old Duncan and LMA, 2015-16 wings would kill Sean Elliott, Mario Elie, Jaren Jackson, etc. And 2015's bench is much better. Avery vs. Parker would be a wash, though. You can say Robinson and Duncan would shut down 2015 wing's penetration, but the thing is, this team doesn't rely on penetration.
The 2015-16 Spurs are already being underrated because of how other-world Golden State looks, but these Spurs have historically great potential, which sadly might not be enough since Golden State might wind up being the best team of all-time. Jury is still out, though.
+1, well said
Duncan would be playing against himself in this scenario?
Duncan did his knee in his third year
NO ONE remembers ATHLETIC duncan.
And then you have possibly the most athletic center Admiral.
TP would be absolutely useless as he cant drive. DG is probably legally blind this year. Which leaves 155 year old Manu and hot/cold Mills to shoot from the outside. 16 Spurs have no bread and butter shots. Whereas 99 Spurs have 2 fricken hof post players who cannot be marked by a single player.
99 Spurs easy.
